Half Full? Or Half Empty?

If the run game continues the wins should continue.
If they revert back to an offense that depends on Dak Prescott to win, expect the same results of the past.

Yah they need to stay with the identity that has worked ever since Dak took over. Run the ball. Efficient passing attack. And now add a NASTY pass rush and we could have something— unless Kellen and Dak decide to go for Madden numbers lol

This W on Thanksgiving is a curious signpost on this 2022 season.

We beat a division opponent after going minus 2 on turnover differential and committing 13 penalties. You don’t get too many wins when you do that.

One the one hand, we continue to make the same dumb mistakes that have hounded us for years. Some would say we beat a depleted, inferior team in NY. Valid point. Half Empty.

But on the other hand, this team has shown it can be elite and “turn it on” when it gets focused and can overcome adversity (4-1 with a backup QB, huge bounce-back W vs Minny after a gut punch L to GB) , and it just might be good enough to win even when they aren’t playing their best ball. Took over and dominated NY in the 2nd half and it should have been even worse. Half Full.

We are 8-3 with three straight winnable games to start Dec and the playoff push. Are they good enough in your opinion to win a watered down NFC?

This team is definitely better than last years team.

That has been the difference; the Cowboys are not having to depend on the quarterback to win.
As long as they don't have to count on Dak to make the difference they are better off in tough games.

If they depend on any quarterback. It’s always been balance that wins championships. I hope that’s what you meant.

Run defense has improved. Penalties have not and Dak needs to stop throwing multiple INT's a game.

Comparing this team to the Garrett years we are light years better I think. I think we’re making progress.

I called 9-8 or 10-7 with an outside shot at the division. they have been a pleasant surprise. The the division has been even more surprising lol
Schedule was too easy for that few wins. 12 wins was what I called right away coming in.

Half full because we can run the ball and pressure the quarterback. That's a good combination for the playoffs to take pressure off Dak and move the ball in bad weather.

I've seen this before; Tashard Choice and Felix Jones went on a tear in 2008 and the Cowboys should have went to the Super Bowl.
They stomped the Eagles in consecutive games, with the second being the wildcard round, but Minnesota shut the run down early in the Divisional playoffs and Romo and Garrett gave up- as they tended to do when things didn't go their way. They lost 35-3.
These coaches won't give up, but there are teams that can stop the run and dare Dak to beat them.
Dak doesn't have a very good history in those situations.

I don’t know why you keep saying it’s a one person issue

Because when the run game isn't working, the quarterback can't choke. He has to play well and make the difference. We've seen him choke and miss wide open receivers in tough games.
But, I hope he has matured and will be able to function under pressure. I will say that the coaches are doing a great job of reeling him in when he starts to struggle. He never had that with Garrett.
I do believe that this team is better because of Mike McCarthy, Kellen Moore, and Dan Quinn in addition to the run game.

I’ve never seen Prescott choke. I’ve seen Mahomes do it.

You have more faith than I do… Trading away Coop, losing Tyron, way too many question marks for my liking— especially when Philly appeared to make significant strides as well. Good on ya

Half FULL

This better be the year

We’re as good as any team in the NFC

Looks that way. Philly is a good team, but not nearly the juggernaut the media spins them out to be.

We are already dismantled Minny. The NFC South is all under .500 and TB and LAR look to be nowhere near what they were projected to be going into this season.

The NFC West looks to have some gritty, scrappy teams— but they are flawed as well. Dallas has as good a shot as anyone to win the NFC
