Half this board thinks the players are bad, the coaches are bad; more think the QB is bad

Yet here we stand, 11-5 heading into the playoffs with the 4th best record in the NFC. Imagine if any part of the team was actually good; the team would never lose a game.

As it stands, the biggest real concern in my mind is the defense. Still soft against the run and not getting nearly the same kind of pressure that they did at the beginning of the season.

As for the offense, it was bad today and has been disappointing toward the end of the season. But they also scored 40 points two weeks ago. They can certainly turn it back up; just a matter of if.

The thing with Dak is that he's never been a high turnover guy. It's actually crazy how he's managed to turn the ball over this years. Borderline unprecedented actually. Maybe he'll continue and doom the team completely. Or maybe he'll regress to the mean to some degree. I believe he can be better.

As for coaches, whatever. Fans purely assess plays in hindsight. Did it work, it was a good play. Did it not work, it was a bad play. That's pretty much worthless analysis in my view.

So I guess we'll see what happens next week. As I mentioned at the beginning, the one place I am concerned is on defense. I am not sure they can do it; just seems like they're somewhat broken. Everywhere else, I am confident they at least CAN get it done.

When the real problem is Jerry. It’s like a book written by Stephen King. Flagg had everyone convinced that Peter, son of King Roland had killed the king when it was Flagg all along…

Pretty level headed post.

I’d add that the Cowboys just aren’t physical enough all around.

This is what we’ve been waiting for all year. Time to lock up and put away the excuses.

And then there’s the guy who thinks it’s the most talented roster in the whole league!!!

In the NFL its 60/40 coaching credit/blame over players IMO. Way more than any other sport. Maybe even 75/25.

Na.. I’ve only really given up on Kellen Moore and Dak.

Moore gets out coached way too often

And the Elephant in the room..

Dak Prescott has lost whatever “It” he once had. I used to have faith that he could take it to another level. Although he’s proven he can play well at times, he’s just to inconsistent to think he’ll do anything in the playoffs. Not to mention lately, he’s thinking too much about “not making a mistake” rather than trusting himself. That lends it hands to indecisions and untimely mistakes.

That said, Dak seems to excel in the ‘2-min’/hurry up offense bc he dosent have to think. Just react and ball.

You have to be good in the front office, coaching staff and QB to be competitive on a consistent basis. They arent.

I agree. I have been very optimistic about the cowboys throughout the season but I am deeply worried this defense can not get it done within the context of the game. The offense for me is hit or miss. It can be excellent or putrid, even within the same game, and the turnovers are unsustainably high that you figure it eventually has to revert to the mean considering there’s not that many high risk plays being attempted. I feel like the offense can be good enough to win football games in the playoffs… sometimes. The defense, I think the injuries and attrition have ravaged them and they just can’t get pressure on the QB anymore. No pressure, no defense, since the run D always sucked. Maybe the cowboys can beat Tampa Bay who is not a good football team, but I would consider them significant underdogs versus Philly (I only even give them a shot because Dallas has been excellent in the division and the Eagles are also ravaged by injuries) and give them no shot versus San Francisco.

We’re having a hard time pinpointing the issue playing against 3 backup QBs but I feel confident we’re all going to learn just how bad that issue is on MNF

What’s really interesting here is that you’re the one not saying anyone at all.

Good job.

The cowboys have 12 wins, and did it without their starting qb part of the year. They are in the play offs. It has been a great regular season. I have enjoyed watching it.

Agree with everything other than the reasoning behind the hurry up offence.. Dak does better in that mode because defences go into a 'prevent' style. Like we same today in our only drive.. Washington (for some unknown reason) suddenly started giving up all that underneath stuff.. and Dak is able to get into rhythm hitting the TE for 5 yard gains.. Dak chews up prevent defences.. nothing more or less.

I still can't understand why any coaches play prevent against him.. but their stupidity is often our gain.
