Hall endorses Maxie

DeAngelo Hall wasn't saying that he wanted to come to Dallas (though he didn't say he doesn't want to come to Dallas). And he's not the type to be PC just for the heck of it.

So I believed him today when he declared Brett Maxie a great addition to the Cowboys coaching staff. Maxie, who coach the secondary with Dave Campo, was Hall's secondary coach in Atlanta from 2004-06.

"I was fortunate enough to play under him for three years," Hall said. "Under him, I got my first and second Pro Bowl, so that says it all."

Even with the Bobby Petrino Era long since bagged, Hall could find his way out. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Falcons are weighing their options. And as such, Hall is keeping quiet on the possibility of a reunion with Maxie in Big D.

"That's all speculation right now," Hall said. "We'll talk about that later."

Hmmm ....

I didn't know Maxie had been hired. I read where it was to take place but then I had to leave town and never heard anything else. I assumed it was on hold. Of course you know what they say about "assumed."

Me either. I guess I heard wrong/read wrong when I thought I saw that he went to Washington. I need to pay more attention.

God knows me need a good corner. If a coach can help Hall get back to an elite level and Dallas gets him I am all for it. The problems he had probably mean we get him cheaper than normal. If he is not better than he was last year no thanks.

We have to take care of Hamlin and Flozell before we trade for a big name player. IF he came i would love it he's a elite corner and hes only 23. So he got pissed a couple times last year who cares **** happens ecspecially when you have a jerk of a coach in petrino. I know 1 person thats high on him and you know who that is.....PRIMETIME.

There is talk Atlanta will cut him so we would not have to trade anything. Flo is as good as gone in my opinion. Dunno about Hamlin I guess we will see.

Elite? Come on, didnt TO take it to him a couple of years ago? Hes all mouth and no heart....IMO.. Hes the first to rollover on any of his coaches. Hes a decent corner and thats it. We can find someone in the draft thats just as good as him.

I'm not defending Hall - I hate his mouth, and he is sort of overrated..

However, a "few years ago" - I think that was his rookie season. Are you kidding me? A highly seasoned vet, one of the best to ever play the position - I would take that match up any day of the week. He was a young player, and still is.

Was and is a young player who has already made a name for his mouth and getting torched, sure Newman went through a spell a couple of years ago with getting torched a little but Henry and a rookie is and will be better than an over-rated hall and his over the top mouth. Shoot just take Flowers in the 2nd if you want a VT CB.

First of all it was his second season and owens only had 3 cathes that game an both tds were perfect throws by romo and were in single coverage. Why draft one when you can pick him up and if he has a bad attitude season then dont re sign him hes only got 1 year left on the deal anyways im sure its worth a shot.

Hall has been overrated his entire career. He's nowhere near elite. He makes big plays, however gives up more big ones than he makes.

His mouth got him in the Pro Bowl. Not his play.

And to put an end to the DeAngelo Hall vs. Terrell Owens debate...

Hall's first year was 2004. He's a four year veteran. He has matched up with TO two times. The first was Hall's second year in 2005. Owens was playing for the Eagles. This is TO's statline for that game.

2005: 7 catches, 112 yards, 0 TD, Long 23

The second time was TO's first year in Dallas, 2006. These are his stats for that game.

2006: 6 catches, 69 yards, 2 TD, Long 51 yards

not to mention the guy returns punts and kicks too. D- Hall is a product of what being on a losing team does. T.O. had mouth problems also in Philly and look how he turned out. If I lost all the time i would have a bad attitude too!!:)

I don't know if there are any elite corners in the Nfl anymore. There some really good ones but really no elite guys.
