They are looking for a 2 and a 6 for hall. I heard them talking on Sirius today and they think that is where the asking price is. The problem is that Hall wants Asante Samuel money and he's not worth it.

I would trade a third for him but that's about it. Of course, you have to worry about the TO/Hall issues.

I'm not sure even if A Samuel is worth Asante Samuel money.

I wonder if Hall is purposefully mucking this trade up feeling that Dallas will up their offer on the contract end..?

Hmmm...

Did you forget it's Al Davis? He just gave Javon Walker Jerry Rice money

Asante is not even worth Asante money. :(

Edit: It appears a few have already stolen my post line.

A 2 and a 6 from Oakland is a lot different than a 2 and 6 from Dallas.

For those that think Dallas would trade for a top 5 salary CB - what do you do with Newman and Henry? One of them becomes your 3rd CB, and can any team justify paying a 3rd CB that much? Especially when your safeties are among the highest paid at their positions. This situation just begs for a rookie to groom at a cheaper price.

If Oakland parts with multiple picks and tons of cash for Hall, no way on earth they are going to want that #4 pick. I believe they will seek to recoup some picks and also pay less as they have to be cap strapped. If McFadden falls, I bet Crazy Al picks up the phone and calls his buddy Jerry.....:bang2:

Yeah the asking price is a 2 and a 6 but he deal is contingent on being able to give Hall a new long term deal. Apparently that is what's staling the Oakland deal now. They're not able to get on the same page with Hall and his agent when it comes to contract money.

This would be the best thing ever, for the rest of the league, if Oakland winds up giving huge money to Hall cause it means the kid with the funny name (Whose a damn fine corner) will not be able to be paid what he's worth. They'll have one of the better tandems in football for one year but then next offseason Aso (Or whatever hsi name is) will be bolting to another team for huge money.

And when the money crazy Raiders are balking at Hall's asking price, you know it's got to be sky high!

Glad that the Cowboys are steering clear of this overhyped, overrated, soon-to-be overpaid fool.

They deserve each other. I hope he goes there and they continue to be terrible.

He is reportedly asking for a deal similiar, possibly slightly more, though that I'm not sure on, to that of what Asante just got from the Eagles.

Thankfully, it looks like it's done:

DEANGELO DEAL DONE

Posted by Michael David Smith on March 18, 2008, 2:19 p.m.
Steve Wyche of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the much-anticipated Falcons-Raiders trade for cornerback DeAngelo Hall is essentially done.
The teams had already agreed that Atlanta would receive Oakland’s second- and sixth-round picks in the NFL draft, but the holdup had been whether the Raiders and Hall could reach an agreement on a long-term contract extension. Hall tells Wyche that the deal will get done.
“There is just some tweaking of the language that needs to be done, some minor details,” Hall said of contract negotiations. “No deal breakers.”
Hall said he is planning to fly to Oakland tomorrow to sign the contract. No details of the contract have been released, but it appears that the Raiders have given in to Hall’s financial demands, which other teams had balked at.
It’s not known where the Raiders’ negotiations with cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha stand, but if Asomugha were to sign his franchise tender, Oakland could line up the most expensive pair of cornerbacks in NFL history in 2008.
Thanks to the trade with the Raiders and a previous trade with the Houston Texans for quarterback Matt Schaub, the Falcons will have four of the first 48 picks in this year’s draft — their own first- and second-round picks and the Texans’ and Raiders’ second-round picks.

This really could bode well for us if they go a different direction with their first pick. I could see them taking DMac - Norwood isn't the answer - and then trying to move back up to get a young QB before teams like Miami, Baltimore, Chicago and the Jets.

Check that. Just remembered they signed Turner. Still, could be very intriguing to trade out of the 28th pick for more draft picks.

I think you're forgetting that they signed Michael Turner.

I can see them giving up a 2nd rounder to move up to #1 to draft Matt Ryan as their 'anti-Vick' so to speak.
