I guess that is why he started at FS all year

I think that he may eventually be decent but to trust him and not take the chance head up to upgrade the position? thats crazy people fail to realize we got killed on the deep ball and through the air period last year.
both of our safeties sucked coverage wise last year.
I think the smartest move to make is deon grant from the jags he can cover and tackle and he is a natural free safety. he's 6-2 about 200 pounds and can cover.
He's played in the playoffs and superbowl (carolina vs new england)
and i dont think he will really cost much.
Watkins showed me nothing that says lets start him next year and sign another cheap vet again.( wait didnt we do that last year and suck?)
marcus coleman and tony parrish and we still were terrible.
I do not trust this kid and i beleive if we drafted burnnett in the second round and then went and upgraded by drafting carp the next year why not upgrade a fourth rounder who really didnt do much more good than bad last year.
And people please stop using this thug terminology on the board because none of us was there when the situation happened. he was allegedly attacked and for some of you people who no nothing about coming from a neighborhood of poverty or your so called terminology " the hood", its actually people out here on the streets that look for trouble, especially when your someone of a celebrity figure.
he could have easily been trying to enjoy himself and a guy could have came to him looking for trouble.
and even if he started the altercation that does not make him a thug, coming from north philly (where there were over 400 homicides last year)
A thug is a career criminal who never took the time to finish high school, go to work, out here selling drugs, killing people, robbing people, and have no respect for life itself.
That is a thug ladies and gentleman and sorry for the long post but im sick of hearing the thug term being misused in america by people who have the slightest idea on what a thug is.
Im 22 years old and lost 6 of my friends before the age of 20 to thugs, so to call athletes thugs? not hardly maybe to corporate america but in reality.
Let me ask any of you a question why isnt bill romanoski considered a thug, or half of the NHL players that fight and todd bertuzzi who slapped someone with a stick????

mmillman;1396204 said:You sound like you might be trying to make it racial. It isn't racial. Hamlin has had problems on and off the field for a long time. In the NFL as in any business, when you hire an employee you want to check his background and after watching Hamlin play ( I live in Seattle) I can tell you his strength is not in coverage and he has issues. :starspin

bigbadroy;1396278 said:give watkins a shot with a coach who doesn't play D like its still the 80's
abersonc;1395824 said:now that's just stupid.
abersonc;1396238 said:He had an excellent year playing "out of position"
Funny that you would say he's out of position. He's played FS ever since he entered the league.
In fact, after his excellent rookie year, Seattle went out and spent a 2nd rounder on Michael Boulware -- a college LB who projected to SS.
So either Seattle is stupid or Hamlin is a legit FS.
