Hampton over Booker

So my opinion is that I can trade for a Etienne or a Breece Hall I’d rather do that then spend a first on running back.

There’s just no reason to do it. I would never draft a RB or a TE in the first round.

The only trade offer they had was Houston to trade down. We dont know what the offer was but lets assume it involved their first round pick which was number 25. Both Booker and Hampton would be gone by then. I dont trust this FO to make trades. The last two first rounders in picked in the 20s dont look so hot. OTOH Booker looks like a high level starter for the foreseeable future. I am at the point where I just want to avoid high round busts. My expectations are that low.

Ditto. Trading back was a bad idea when we had our guy sitting there. We identified our player, so why get too cute and risk losing him? Dropping back to 25 was a long way to drop. The elite olineman on our board was sparse. Wasnt a deep draft on that regard. We ended up staying put and it was wise. We found us a 10 year starter.

How many of you guys would be happier right now if we went Hampton over Booker in round 1?
The only player I would have liked at 12 over Booker was DT Grant. We got this crap out of the way this draft. I fully expect an offense heavy draft next season. There will be another Hampton. Lets first work on giving that future RB the best line possible.

Exactly. Remember how before the draft Shotty was interviewed down at the owners meetings? He said team building starts from the perimeter in. Sounded nutty at the time, our fans were panicked. Turns out, it was a massive smokescreen he put out there for consumption. Masterful. We did the exact opposite. We never really showed our hand, made all the fans, content creators believe we were going RB or wr at 12. Then we went full Baltimore Ravens on everyone and drafted bpa from the trenches. Bunch of baddies in the trenches. Leaders . Highly productive. Shotty fooled everyone. I'm a big fan of his philosophy. Plan has been implemented.
You build an OL with LT and C, then other positions
We dont have a LT or RT and C is unknown
Spending multiple rd1 picks on OG with so many other gaping holes is a poor use of resources IMO

What if they have a plan in place for center and the bookends? Maybe I'm in the minority, I thought Hoffman was much more suited at center than Bebee. Never understood moving him there. To me Cooper B is a badarse pure LG and should play there. Which then would kick Tyler Smith out to LT, then my thought is just plug in Guyton at his natural position from college, RT. ITS NOT HARD. Could this be the plan? Make Steele the swing. Or Richards. To me, that's our best 5.

I hope you end up being right. I have serious doubts about him working out but it would be great if he did.
I have doubts too. But if this offensive line does what it’s suppose to do it might not matter who’s running the football. We need a number 2 and Mingo has that potential.

Young and strong offensive line reconstruction for dominance. What is there NOT to like?
I would have probably went WR. But not because I don’t see the value in a solid oline. That halos both the run and passing game. My thinking is if Hoffman:bass are a 5 and booker is an 8, couldn’t I have improved WR position by more than I improved guard? That’s my only thing. But booker is a good player who I think really develops into a really good guard

Absolutely not I.
Never take a RB based on testing.
No position has more fool's gold throughout NFL draft history than RB.
Always favor production and game tape.

RB has so many soft skills: pass protection, soft hands, ball control, vision, change of speed and direction. Ability to absorb contact and hold up physically.

Yes, if they move smith to LT then im on board but i dont think we will do that

We are more into “we drafted a “HOF OG look at us” rather than “we built an OL and won a SB” with this FO

Unless it was Jeanty at 12, it's a pass. Hampton and Mafah are not much different and we got Mafah in round 6 or 7. Something like that. Hampton might be better with his short area burst, but Mafah will flat out seek you out and hurt you. He's also much more complete. He's great in pass pro.
Hahahahahaha

Hampton and a 7th round running back aren’t much different

Man you need to stop. You sound ridiculous
