Better oft using a 2nd/3rd and drafting Ollie Gordon type with one of the 5ths. We need the free agent money for other positions. I think Dowdle will get 12 million guaranteed in free agency.

I’m not.

Henderson is a special runner in my book and he can do more than Hampton.

Hampton may be able to carry more of the load but Henderson to me is a bigger threat on the football field.

Hampton is my guy but I won't be unhappy with Henderson

Based on what we have heard, their plan is to keep Dowdle and pair him up with a draftee. Now if they are unable to keep Dowdle, do they sign another fa or do they look towards the draft to revamp the entire positional group? A player that we should watch is Jamaal Williams who was just cut by the Saints where his RB coach is now with the Cowboys.

If Dowdle want more than 3.5 million I’m letting him walk.

Hes easily replaceable.

He’s definitely a much better prospect than Henderson!

I thought Henderson was the perfect back for what this offense wants to be. Breakaway speed - catching outa the backfield.
My one concern is he weighed in at only 202 lbs.
Thus Hampton would be my first choice.
Now if they took Henderson, I think they should also grab a bigger back to spell him later in the draft.
I'm ok letting Rico go and grabbing 2 backs in the draft. I also want to see what Duece can do this season !

It's apples-to-oranges comparing two RBs with entirely different skillsset.

If they resign Dowdle, Henderson makes a lot of sense to me. I think he's at worst a Pollard or Gibbs type of runner that can flip the field and pair with another back to share the load. This would also be the case if the plan is to let Dowdle walk and draft two RBs instead.

If don't resign Dowdle and team is looking for a bellcow type of back then Hampton would be the guy.

Scenario 1: Re-sign Rico and draft Henderson in the 2nd

Scenario 2: Draft Henderson in the 2nd and a hammer like Martinez / Skatteboo / etc in the 5th.

I prefer scenario 1 bc I’d like to have at least 1 proven back heading into the season it with how good the class is I’d be fine with 2. Regardless we have to get some juice at the position.

Hampton is the consensus #2 RB for a reason. Even Kaleb Johnson should be ahead of Henderson.

No way dude - Henderson does everything Hampton does but his long speed is outstanding. It’s Henderson then Hampton for me.

That's my rb list, that's the order for me. Jeanty hampton and henderson are the big 3 with a drop off and then the latter 3 before another drop off.

You always need 2 backs. Just is what it is.

A dozen or more solid backs in this draft. Wouldn't even consider it in the 1st 2 rounds.
