Did it seem like our guys were frequently looking for those 'Hands to the Face' calls. Maybe 4-5 guys were consistently running to the ref every other play, looking for some easy help from penalty yards instead of just playing. Pretty soon, the secondary will start pointing fingers at each other like the good old Campo days.

I'm exaggerating slightly, but it seemed like that early. I zoned out in the second half, so maybe they stopped.

Well when the refs called it back to back on Brooks, they kind of set the bar to call all of them. The inconsistency was atrocious.

Having said that, the whining for calls - Dez and Mo were the biggest culprits - is a microcosm of this team as a whole. They all want things to go well but they seem to prefer that it just be handed to them. This team needs to just nut up and go to work, which they haven't ever really done, especially at the skill positions.

That was some bad officiating and both teams had some calls against them that should not have been made.

They were saying they got hands to the face when they were called for something. It didnt seem strange to me.

I kind if thought we got all the calls this ballgame. What did we get screwed out on?

2 glaring hands to the face penalties...

If you watch Dez on the offensive holding call, the CB has his hand up in his grill pretty obviously. I imagine he ranted about it for quite some time on the sideline. There were many other examples of SF doing it. I suspect it has something to do with the techniques they use.

I remember saying to my friend how often they were doing it. It has to be technique because they were doing it quite a bit.

I had mentioned to my 9er friend our WR's obviously had a lot of restraint because if it were me, and they couldn't get their hands off my facemask, they shouldn't be too surprised if they find said helmet under their chin strap when they're crossing field at full speed. Nothing makes a guy less handsy than not being able to count to potato.

On the Romo's 3rd INT, I thought Dez was held but wasn't called. I think the contact by the DB running with him was the reason Dez stumbled a little at the end preventing him from jumping as high as he usually does.

I have to admit I read the title and thought this thread was going to be about the hardcore Cowboy fans crying after the game.

As an aside, Aikman was wrong, that first call against Brooks was legitimate, the replay that they aired ended too soon - Brooks blatantly grabbed the face mask after the replay stopped, but during the play.

That seemed close to being DH, but the DB was ahead of Dez in a better position to catch the ball, which makes those calls tough and also highlights the absurdity of Tony's throw in the first place.

I noticed, but each replay looked like a legit complaint to me.

That said, the calls definitely weren't against us this week.

Morning, Asthma. Any players in the college ranks already getting your attention yet?

Haven't watched much college ball so far, but one guy did catch my attention in the Michigan - Notre Dame game. It was ND linebacker Jaylon Smith, just a sophomore, who helped hold Michigan to its first shutout in about 30 years. In the little bit I watched, Smith was all over the place. Just looked more athletic than the other guys on the field.

I don't know much about him, but he really grabbed my attention in that game.

all players do it, they want the ref to pay attention to what they feel the opposing player is doing.

Only glaring non-call I noticed was the defenceless receiver atrocity committed against Dez which was somehow ignored.

I thought it was called correctly, once the ball is touched by the defender, his teammates become blockers and on top of that in the slow mo it looked like the hit would have been timed correctly with the ball arriving to Dez had it not been intercepted. The way football should be played imo we were just on the receiving end this time.
