Hangin' with Mr. Cooper

This is the guy I've been wanting for a while now, he's the Tyron Smith of Guard prospects. Ridiculous athleticism.

Middle of round one would be about right for this guy.
I like the punch he has. He knocks guys on the hind parts with it.

Video of breaking down Jonathan Cooper's ability to pass protect. Good stuff.

Thanks for posting the video link!

I totally agree. He is my favorite interior OLineman in this draft.

I know that people love Warmack and he is a terrific road-grader; however, Cooper's quickness is elite and he is very strong.

Cooper is probably quicker than most of the Left Tackles in college. He is an OG because he is 6'2-5/8 tall.

Also, Cooper has played Center in some games.

Me too, Love this guy

Cooper looks like a perfect fit for Calahan's scheme. Not sure if Warmack would be as good in a zone blocking system.

Smith and Cooper on the same line would be amazing. He moves so well he even reminds me of Tyron out there.

What ever happened to waiting until the middle rounds for guards? Are those days over?

I dunno? What do you think? How has that worked out for us huh?

Certainly not opposed to Cooper but if they want to trade back and get another pick Dallas Thomas offers more versatility and similar ability.

Sad fact is that no O lineman we have drafted outside of Free- and the jury is still out on him- has become a quality starter for us that has been drafted lower then the 2nd rd for over 15 years.

Agree.

Dallas Thomas would be my next choice after Cooper.

Tennessee moved Thomas from LT in 2011 to LG in 2012; however, I don't really think that it was due to performance. I think that they want really quick Guards in their scheme.

I would rather have Warmack and have a power running game. I have never been a fan of Callahan or Zone blocking.

Those days have been over for most teams that have or want a good oline. That line of thought still runs strong in Dallas. Expect a sixth round guard from some small school to be drafted and Jerry will declare the line was addressed.

or sign two JAGS that have not performed well for other teams and say that is good enough for this year
