Bears | Could Keep Four QBs - from www.KFFL.com
Fri, 22 Oct 2004 09:50:36 -0700
Larry Mayer, of ChicagoBears.com, reports pending the team's possible signing of free agent QB Tim Couch (Packers), Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said the team might keep four quarterbacks on their active roster this season. The team currently has QBs Jonathan Quinn, Craig Krenzel, Chad Hutchinson on their roster. "Very seldom do you let a guy go that you think can really help your team," Smith said. "You find a way (to keep him). Most of the time you don't keep four quarterbacks, but in our situation we're keeping all options open."

Updating a previous report, Larry Mayer, of ChicagoBears.com, reports Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith said the team is intrigued by the possibility of signing free agent QB Tim Couch (Packers), who is scheduled to visit and workout for the team Friday, Oct. 22. "Hopefully he will have a great workout and we'll try to do something with him," Smith said. ""We all know who Tim Couch is and what his background is and I'm intrigued by that. But right now it's nothing more than a physical and a workout."
