The most effective cure for a hangover is to never stop drinking...

It's a scientifically proven fact...

What exactly are you doing at work at 5 AM, anyway??

Sarge agrees :laugh2:

i'm in scotland so its 11am, more to the point what are you doing online at 5am? and as for keeping drinking i'm doing overtime and celtic are playing away to aberdeen in an hour and a half so i'm going to the pub and i very much doubt i'll be coming back.

Bear works at night and I couldn't sleep. I went to bed around 9:30.

fair enough, i'm feeling rediculous but only half an hour and i'll be back in the pub. can almost taste the lager already :beer2: :D

I'm hungover too....only I'm not sure why. I only drank about 4 tall boys and one Jameson. That usually doesn't do it. I think it's going to be a quick one though. I hope, cause I have to get in the car and drive to D.C. for the Caps game at 1 pm........and start drinking again. :D

The best way to avoid a bad hangover is to drink some water and eat something before you go to bed. I hate hangovers, so I rarely drink enough to get them.

It has something to do with the sugar content in alcohol, coupled with the dehydration that alcohol visits on the system.

A glass or two of water and a couple Advils before bed do the trick for me.

Mixing libations is also not recommended. Whatever you're drinking, drink just that. Don't mix beer with wine, whiskey with rum, etc, etc.............

As an ex-bartender, I can also tell you that "true" drinkers..................they don't fool around with "candy" drinks. No "rum & cokes" or "seven & sevens" or "gin & tonics" or "Jack & cokes". Nothing exotic or mixed. True "believers" drink liquor "clean" or straight-up. Just Martini's and Scotch on the rocks, Vodka on the rocks, Brandy.............stuff like that. Even Tequila, just straight up. As a bartender, when a guy orders "a glass of Scotch", you know you got a seasoned veteran at the seat, probably a good tipper too.

In fact, my drink of choice, Brandy/rocks...............after years of testing (which I got to do for free), I settled on Brandy because of this steady customer I had, bartending days at a hotel. He was a traveling salesman and, every week, every Wednesday and Thursday for two year he'd pass through town and stay at the place...................and start drinking Brandy around 3:00 in the afternoon until he went to bed. Good drink, no hangover.

we won 3-1 after going a goal down, i had six pints and now feel much better :D
