Hankins and Mazi Smith did their jobs on the inside

That WR ran right up the middle for a 50 yard TD. This is garbage. They ran on our defense in every way possible with every type of player, all over the field.
Not sure if it was a missed assignment or what but Hankins went inside on that play, the DE (Williams?) rushed straight up field and left the B and C gaps wide open. Not sure if Hankins was responsible for anything other than the a gap on that play but I think the bigger issue is the DE…along with guys at the second level being stationary. No one was stepping up to fill.

The biggest issues was the linebackers and safeties taking the day off. It was a game where the DL was getting pushed around a little and they actually had to do their job and be counted on. They completely failed.

They are great when they are unblocked.

I think you’re spot on about the Lbs and DBs. I’m not sure the front four really got beat as much as they just completely took themselves out of plays though. The play you mentioned is a perfect example. DE and DT both moved out of the way to create maybe the biggest hole I’ve seen since my ex wife left.

They stunt a lot. So when the right play is called and its blocked well, there can be issues. But the linebackers and safeties were just jogging it. Just hanging around. It was really pathetic.

Our linebacker and safety play was bad. Kearse might of had is worst game as a Cowboy. Watching him trying to turn and run was sad. I wonder if he is hurt or has some sort of leg injury. He looked like Jaylon Smith trying to turn and run.

If he is hurt and start the game out playing like trash vs the Patriots I rather see the rookie Juanyeh Thomas out their making mistakes then a vet like Kearse. Thomas brings a little more speed.

Yeah you could see our edges got sealed and our lbs were bad....also our des overpursued on the pass rush too and left a lot of space in the interior.

Similar issues that we have seen before, hope they clean it up
Tackles for loss don't lead to big contracts. Sacks lead to big contracts. That's all this defense is worried about
