Happy Memorial Day guys and gals.

I realize it is actually tomorrow, but a lot of celebration and reflection has already begun.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.(oops Sorry Sarge didn't realize you had already posted this one but it has such meaning I will just leave it be)

The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example.

A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.

These heroes are remembered. They died for liberty - they died for us. They are at rest. They sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, and the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or of storm, each in the windowless Place of Rest. Earth may run red with other wars - they are at peace. In the midst of battle, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. I have one sentiment for soldiers living and dead: cheers for the living; tears for the dead

Just a few quotes I thought was fitting. These quotes are the expressions and the emotions I feel inside. I truly thank those who defend or have defended the freedom and right I have to sit here and post these quotes for them. They truly deserve more but thanks is all I can offer. Again Thank You.

Happy Memorial Day to all! I am stuck in China until June 1, and am missing a beautiful 80 degree day with my family, not to mention the burgers and hot dogs. I'm envious of you guys.

It Is The Soldier

It is the Soldier, not the minister
Who has given us freedom of religion.

It is the Soldier, not the reporter
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the Soldier, not the poet
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the Soldier, not the campus organizer
Who has given us freedom to protest.

It is the Soldier, not the lawyer
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the Soldier, not the politician
Who has given us the right to vote.

It is the Soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.

It's like that old bumper sticker:

"If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in English, thank a soldier."
