Wade has only been the Cowboys coach for a few months and it seem players on the defense are so happy. They believe Wade has changed the defense to better utilitze thier strength. As players are happy in May and June about the change. These early signs are that coach Wade has done his part to bring a winning defense to Dallas. So when training camp starts everyone should be ready to better prepare for the winning changes that has been made.
At the end of September and the start of October. If this defense isn't playing winning football. We all can look back and say..it isn't because of the coach..it's the players.
Well, yes, I sort of think I agree with some of what you are saying, which is to say maybe you are right, or maybe I am wrong.
The players are happy because their excuse for losing last year was the scheme didn't fit their particular skills. Never mind that scheme got them to December in pretty good shape to make a playoff run. In fact, the scheme last year was good enough to offset erratic quarterback play, which ultimately resulted in Romo replacing Bledsoe.
The only players I think who will benefit from Wade's scheme are Spears and Williams, both of who had bad seasons with respect to the "scheme."
So, going into training camp, the two players mentioned above had better produce at a much higher level.
If the Cowboys get into September and October, and are playing at last year's level, then we can assume the scheme, either the old one, or the new one, isn't working.
I'm betting on the Cowboys to be playing at a slightly higher level in September and October, and then in November, they will
terrorize the league.
When December starts, the Cowboys will be ready to run the table all the way to next year's draft, holding the #1 pick, and of course, the #32 pick.
If this doesn't happen, then Wade Phillips is a bust, and Jerry can go after Bill Cowher.
