I saw where the Ravens gave Harbaugh a new contract with a three year span . The same amount of yrs MM turned down to come back to Dallas . I’m right in there complaining away about JJ with 80 % of the fanbase but please based on MM five yr performance three yrs offered in both instances Balt & Dallas more then generous .

MM got the interview right out of the gate with Chicago then that was it nothing . Not the hot commodity he thought he was . Harbaugh looks at it like I have three yrs of salary in the safety deposit box regardless of results . And after his one SB win against the brother he’s stalled out on that .

Three yrs isn’t enough to stroke the ego ? Give you a measure of security fatten up the retirement numbers . MM not living in reality , was never a good hire .

Might not have the desire, nor need the money. Once you have a lot of money, work tends to take a back seat to money. I'm not nearly as wealthy as McCarthy, but I am comfortable enough to take a pay cut to have a better life. If I can do that, we never know what goes through the minds of much wealthier people.

Like I’ve said before Jerry made the initial mistake in hiring him .

He shouldnt have got any offers from us after that season. The fact he got 3 is a joke and a even bigger joke he declined, what an ego.

Not completely apples to apples here though....Harbaugh got a 3 year extension of his current deal. McCarthy was supposedly offered a 3 year deal from Dallas. Had Jerry offered McCarthy a 3 year extension prior to his contract expiring its likely a different situation. Baltimore also paid Harbaugh roughly $12M per year on his previous deal, whereas Dallas paid McCarthy around a third of that figure. Now its a very fair talking point to say that McCarthy isnt worth what Harbaugh has gotten, but I don't think comparing the two deals is fair. The Cowboy/McCarthy situation and the Ravens/Harbaugh situation are two completely different animals.

We've only had two good coaches since Jerry bought the team, Jimmy, and Parcells. There were no restrictions either. Jerry actually went out and got WR Owens, something Bill wasn't happy about. Even though Bill wasn't there, that 2007 team was his. We haven't had a team as good since. Jerry doesn't go after players like that anymore.

McCarthy's biggest obstacle was that, in spite of winning a championship in 2010, he set a record for most playoff losses.

I like Mike. But I understand moving on from him.

I'm more upset we allowed Moore than Quinn to leave the building.

I have a funny feeling about Schott he comes from good pedigree and I’m going out on limb this yr 11 wins and a WC especially if the draft nets 3-4 starters

I'm cautiously optimistic. We can hope.

It sucks for Mike, though. He brought Shotty in and he took his job.

Well I wouldn’t say that . It was his right to interview for the opening . Jerry offered MM a three yr contract he has no one to blame but himself .

Ah, I actually didn't know a 3 year contract was on the table. I thought it was 1-2 for some reason.

MM couldn’t get the Cowboys past the bouncer at the front door . Yes a new HC and a fresh set of eyes as assistants is an improvement over 7-10 duds ville .
True. In his defense, the teams was plagued by injuries and still put up somewhat of a fight even with Cooper Rush's deficiencies. I mean, they likely have to adjust the game plan to compensate for his lack of physical talent.

Then, the defense. But I hear you. Three years is a fair offer.

The expectations better be higher than the WC if we can get 3-4 quality starters through the draft this year. I think most teams become contenders if they land 3-4 starters via the draft.

After what Jerry did to McCarthy and his Staff, I would have lost all respect for McCarthy if he signed on under Jerry's terms.

I also think people truly underestimate the value of peace of mind. Ive given up higher paying situations but decided to pass on them, I knew where my values and priorities stood. My time with family is something no amount of money will ever return to me.

You’re an NFL coach you’ve been with Jerry 5 yrs but all of a sudden “ values and time with the family “ watching Bonanza reruns with Hoss & Lil Joe is more important then 3 more yrs of direct deposits . Ok
