I don't think they can afford to make a decision yet.

One starter is suspended for the first quarter of the season. The other end starter is someone "we think" might be recovered from back surgery that we admit is more serious than we thought.

But, he fractured the locker room and just has to go.

Alright, then what?

All options need to be kept open until there is the possibility of evaluating things.

Stephen Jones commented today that they were "surprised at what it turned out to be" but they "think he might" be able to participate some in the OTAs and be on for training camp.

That comment bothers me a good bit. It would not be the first time that our projections about injury recovery have been very very wrong.

And it wouldn't be the first or last guy to have his career shortened or ruined by a back injury. Look no further than our last dynasty teams. Several hall of farmers had their careers ended because of back issues.

After what I just heard on The Ben & Skin show, I want no part of him on this team. They said he was openly challenging Garrett in the locker room in front of teammates and then basically called him a ***** for not disciplining him.

If thats what he was doing on a 1 year prove it deal while trying to rebuild his image, he can move on. Bringing him back would be an ultimate slap in the face of the coaching staff, and as much as I don't like most of them, you can't put them in a position like that. Especially for a guy with all the baggage and the little production here to back it up.

Why are our dlinemen always hurt/ injured? Is it conditioning and training combined with bad luck? There was an article interviewing Demarcus Ware where he stated that the Broncos trained and conditioned differently.

I just remember they early 90s where haley, tolbert, lett, casillas, and the airforce dude where dominating. I cant remember that many injuries but then again maybe i was blinded by all the winning.

They are always hopeful.

That is their fatal flaw. It actually stands in the way of them being able to formulate intelligent plans for contingent issues.

And that is an organization direction that has existed for a very very long time.

Aikman, Novacek, Haley, Woodson, Terry Glenn, Marco Rivera, etc.

Even recently, when Romo went out several years ago, they thought it was nothing, then two days later, Orton is starting in a win or in game and indefinitely thereafter if successful.

I could go on and on how many times we counted on injured players to rebound.

I don't particularly like Garrett, but regardless of how he handled it, I don't want that type of guy in the locker room for Garrett or anyone that comes after him with only extreme exceptions. Haley for example. Hardy had not earned the right to act out, nor speak out on anything here. The team took a massive PR hit to sign him and was hounded for the better part of the season by national media and a barrage of questions about his behavior after signing him. If he's going to do that in the situation he was in, after the risk the team took signing him to begin with, he can move on and I'll simply forget his meager season. I was a big supporter of the move to get him and defended him during the season so there's no bias against him. If he's retained, it's a clear sign Garrett is forever a puppet.

Not questioning you, but I don't believe that 'report' for a second. If such a cancerous viper was actually pulling stuff like that, guys like Bryant and Sean Lee wouldn't be taking up for him or talking about a good locker room. In fact, there's no doubt in my mind he would have either been fined, suspended, or cut.

From the way they said it, it seemed like it was told to them by a player, though I can't recall if they said as much. Both of them have really tight connections with a lot of players for the local teams and tend to be credible for stuff like this.

Ask yourself if you believe that any player - much less one in Hardy's shoes - could actually get away with that.

Then I think you'll have your answer.

We saw what happened with him and a coach on live TV along with numerous other things that have been verified with very little discipline. This is also the same team that had a player try and assault Jerry himself followed by Jerry praising him later that same week. Why would I expect anything to be done when the owner is a coddler? I think you're giving this organization far too much credit.
