Can you imagine the 2016 defense if they upgrade at safety, keep Hardy, and get Scandrick back?

Gronk still had 4 catches for 67, which is less than average for him, but I don't know if that qualifies as a "shut down" performance... I also think the pass-rush had a lot to do with it... I liked what i saw from Jones, it's something to grow on.

Allow me to eat crow regarding my advice that we "temper expectations" of Hardy, and my suggestion that he might "not be an elite" presence at DE.... Boy was I WRONG! I did not expect him to have this sort of an impact.

Well if you take away the illegal pick plays and Gronk on his long run should have been called for offensive PI........ya Jones shut him down

I know Hardy was really amped to play this game, but this is the kind of player he is. I fully expect to see pressure consistently and probably average close to a sack per game. Extension talks can't happen soon enough.

Some positives:

- 5 sacks in the 1st half had never been done against Brady in his career...looking forward to adding Gregory

- The defense did a good job of getting off the field on 3rd downs several times vs. the NFL's top-ranked offense

- RoMac was solid

- White was seemingly decent in his first extensive action...except for the dropped pick 6

- Jones held his own for a while against the freak known as Gronk...a tall task for anyone

- OL was pretty decent overall

- There's talk of Cassel potentially getting a look & Dez could return after the bye...Tony will eventually return
