In 3rd and long situations is there anyway to get these three on the field at the same time, perhaps one as an OLB?

Hardy gives Gregory a year to get things together as well and then we probably just Hardy sign elsewhere. It seems like a good plan if things interpersonal stuff can be worked out (for both of them).

Assuming Gregory is ready to play RDE, you move Hardy inside and put Lawrence at LDE on 3rd down. Throw in Crawford and you have a pretty menacing 4 man rush.

If that would work it would be sweet. I don't think Hardy will get more than 6 games. The NFL is trying to make a case for mitigating circumstances of 4 instances of abuse to try to enforce the new policy and get 6 games (after appeal lowers it to 2 games plus 4 for mitigating circumstances).

Really just depends on whether Doty buys that or just thinks they are trying to find a way to enforce the new policy.

Both Hardy and Mincey have played a significant number of snaps at DT in pass rushing situations. Lawrence, Hardy, Crawford, Gregory across the line.

Our pass rush should be nasty. Marenelli had us playing well beyond our talent last year. This should be fun.

In typical Jerry fashion, he's had to gamble to get there. But the team has added 2 dynamic pass rushers in Hardy and Gregory. That scenario seemed like a pipe dream 2 months ago. We'll see how it works out but gotta give him credit for significantly upgrading the talent at our biggest team weakness.

DL progress this year = OL progress last year....trenches are fixed [on paper]. I know we need to see them produce yet. That's for those who will respond to needing to see them play...LOL...
But that is known and for another time.

For now, at this time....trenches are fixed, and LB's are fixed.
Still may need secondary help. But with the addition of Jones at CB or FS, as well as FA signee Corey White that also can play both, it's a start. But can't fix it all in one year.
The status of Carr, which I don't believe is going anywhere, and also Mo most likely will be his last year, and may or may not contribute from his injury. And Scandrick, and his whining of his contract. This will be the D ? going into TC. But we do have Patmon and his progress to be seen.

On Offense, the only real ? is RB, do we get one today, or go with who we have. I don't think it's as dismal with who we now have as many think it is. I still would like to see another WR added to replace Harris. And yes, we need a TE for at least TC purposes.

But unlike Jerry, no trades in any of these rounds....:D

And, as you said, upgraded a weakness. We needed this more than a RB.

Not sure about LBs being settled. Your starting 3 are set but maybe they look to add another versatile Hitchens-type as a backup in the 4th. I think they focus on LB and the secondary in round 4.

I think Hardy might end up being a one-year rental. Imagine he blows up and wants $15 mil a year. With a Dez extension looming, we'll need to be good fiscal stewards.

Hardy means so much to the effectiveness of the whole defense. I hope that he plays a lot this season...and is even in a future snap shot for the Cowboys. He just needs to take pictures with more babies and stay away from the media. I'm sure the team and staff will work with him here. I don't think that Dallas has the group of 'bad boys' that Cincinatti walked away from not too long ago.
