Hardy may end up an Eagle

Or maybe he won't wind up with anyone at all.

There doesn't seem to be anyone in a real hurry to give him another shot.

He might have ruined his own career already.

I'd doubt that, but that would suck.

I'm not saying that it's likely but it's certainly possible. People like to say that he under performed while he was here but honestly, if you watched him, he was not nearly as bad as many suggested. If he gets some help around him, which he really didn't have here at the end of the season IMO, I think it's possible. They guy has talent and with another off season under his belt, anything is possible.

I agree.

And while many fans and the front office likely disagree, I'd give him another shot to truly turn his career around. If the things about second chances and truly wanting to help troubled players they said last year are true, why not sign him to a zero-guarantee deal and let him prove that he's changed?

I see what you're saying. It's just that a zero-guarantee deal is still not without risk. He could still disrupt team unity. Of course we as fans don't know all the details of his bad behavior behind closed doors, so it's tough for us to say what they should do. If his infractions were all minor, then I agree with what you're saying we should do. If the infractions are so bad that they were wasting too much time and energy dealing with them, taking away from focus on football, then you've got to let this guy go.

Yeah, truly tough to know as we'll likely never get all of the actual details.

I don't want him with the Eagles. Hardy runs on vengeance. He would make it his goal to sack tony all day in that game. I think, when focused, Hardy is a destructive force. If I was the Eagles, I'd sign him, pick his brain about the Cowboys offense/ defensive schemes and weaknesses. Then on game day, line him over Doug Free and unleash the hounds. Have hi focus specifically on hitting Romo at his weak points ( collar/back) maybe do a high low hit combo w another defensive player and end the Cowboys season. Now since I'm a Cowboys fan, I don't want any of that to happen so I hope they don't sign him.

On the field, he doesn't mess things up.

He can. He sure did in the patriots game. He was ruthless. Now, imo, i think he was distracted here with all the negative press but after a year layoff he still managed significant sacks and pressures while being doubleteamed more than lawrence. I use the word significant in relation to what the cowboys overall dline production was

I don't think Hardy was as bad as people made him out to be last year.

I think the problem is that after the way he played against the Patriots lots of people just assumed this guy was going to be getting 2-3 sacks every single week and just thought this guy was going to have double digit sacks no problem.

That's not the way the NFL works. Hardy was a solid player for us and he did help the defense a lot.

His problems were his off the field stuff and some of his over the top crap on the sidelines like smacking/snatching clip boards out of coaches hands and acting like a fool. There is passion folks and then there is just being a big *** idiot. Unfortunately Hardy chose to go the way of the big *** idiot.

That will change come TC, when teams realize their passrush is going to suck.

Haley almost killed Jerry Jones as well as terrorized his own teammates. Jimmy didn't cut him, he HARNESSED him and rode him to championships. Haley was much more disruptive than Hardy was but Garrett lacks the stones to have a one on one with guy and really get thru to him. Haley hated Jimmy but he played like a fiend for him.

"You hear that, that's the sound of your career flushing down the toilet" Jimmy said to Haley as he flushed the toilet. And Haley knew Jimmy meant it.
