Rams defensive end a no-show for meetings, practice
Associated Press

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Rams defensive end Anthony Hargrove was an unexcused absentee for meetings and practice Thursday, and the team said it was unsuccessful in attempts to contact him.

Coach Scott Linehan said "several people" tried to reach Hargrove, a third-year player out of Georgia Tech. Hargrove has six tackles and one-half sack in the first two games.

"Hopefully we'll get some kind of contact before the end of the day," Linehan said. "First of all, I've got to make sure everything is OK, and then find out certainly why he would not be here."

Teammates appeared unaware of any problems. Defensive end Leonard Little shook his head no twice when asked whether he knew anything about Hargrove's absence, and defensive tackle Jimmie Kennedy said simply, "I have no clue."

Rookie Victor Adeyanju, a fourth-round pick, moved up to the first team on Thursday.

They are now reporting on that board the Rams have contacted him and he is ok. He had a "personal matter" to deal with

ah, good, thought Leonard Little might have ran over him, backing out of his driveway
