Now, has anyone heard any buzz at all about Hendrickson signing....anywhere? What is the deal with this silence? Rickey Scoops has been hit or miss but he called the CeeDee Lamb contract almost down to the dollar amount. He has sources. They aren't always correct. But imagine if the Cowboys have been in negotiations with Hendrickson all this time.

Could be. But if they’re talking obviously the Cowboys have not offered what he wants to agree to a deal. The Eagles wanted to re-sign Phillips. The Carolina Panthers stepped up and essentially said “you’re not going to, we are”. The Panthers targeted the guy they wanted and did what it takes to get him. The Cowboys can afford to sign Hendrickson, if they choose to. If they don’t it’s because they chose not to.

I would be surprised if the Eagles made this move. They are only $11 million under the cap and are very limited on ways they can create more cap space. About the only real move they have to make space is by cutting Michael Carter and then they are $20 million under the cap. But you still need money for draft picks and in season moves. I think Howie is content to rack up compensatory picks for now and maybe wait until after the draft when comp picks are frozen. Signing Hendrickson would put them very tight against the cap and they would lose what looks like a 3rd round comp pick for Jaelan Phillips leaving.
