Has a team had 4 first round picks before?

Just thinking about it. Say we have the 2 firsts that we currently own this year. Say another team signs Canty and we get that teams 1st rounder. Another team signs Barber and we get a 1st from them.

Has there ever been a team that had 4 first round picks in the same draft before? What would we do? There wouild be a few holes, but a lot of options.

I know it is far fetched that this happens, but could be possible.

I remember them Traded Key for one of them and one was their's. How did they get the other two?

Ah, wouldn't that be nice if Miami grabbed one of them...

Haha. :)

Canty to Atlanta...Barber to Miami...Life would be good.

Didn't they get 2 first rounders from Tampa for Keyshawn? 13th and 27th.

Can't recall who they traded to get pick #12.

got 2 for Key -- lots of folks on other pre-cowboyzone boards were pissed that we'd given up 2 1st for Galloway when we could potentially had Key instead.

And besides, the cost of signing 4 #1's would be out of sight.

Our cap would be blown up and we'd have to cut a couple of players to probably fit under the limit after the draft.

In fact, I think we would have to be a certain amount under the cap going into it if we had 4 #1's going in, or we couldn't even be in the draft. They would force us to sit it out.

So that's not going to happen.

I highly doubt we end up with both our #1's before it's all over with, anyway.

We'll see.

I'm curious would four first rounders probably only cost us a million a piece. Hope Adam isn't listening.

But you're also gaining the cap space from Barber and Canty's salaries. Rookie salaries really aren't that high unless they're Top 5. Jamarcus Russell got $32 mil guaranteed over 6 years. Adrian Peterson was 6 years with $17 mil guaranteed.
