Is there any qualify on that? Like number of games started? Because Romo did start all 16 games for us this season. Just thought I'd add a little insult to our injury.

During a non-winning season?

A few quarterbacks have had higher ratings in 8-8 seasons, but they managed to make the playoffs in those seasons.

Others have had higher ratings during winning seasons but missed the playoffs.

As Percy said, Romo's 102.5 is the highest for any qualifying quarterback whose team neither had a winning record nor made the playoffs.

One note -- In 1968, Bart Starr had a 104.3 rating for the Packers, who finished 6-7-1 and missed the playoffs. But he missed two games and didn't start in three others. The Packers were 4-5 in his nine starts.

Is there any qualify on that?

You have to have enough pass attempts to qualify for a rating in any particular season (average of at least 14 attempts in each of team's total number of games).
