The Cowboys players are not talking to the media. I think they are a lot more focused than people think.

Its only Monday! I hope I get my cowboys fix sometime this week, a whole week of crickets ahhhh! Witten and Crayton did lockerroom interviews that were posted on DC.com, but I guess your right it still would be nice if they avoided the media and let the giants do the talking.

They're talking, but they're being diplomatic

Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

Wade Phillips studied up on the history of teams playing playoff games against division rivals they swept in the regular season. He recited the stat of the sweepers being 11-6 in those situations.

Greg Ellis, Valley Ranch's resident worrywart, said the Cowboys can't allow the season sweep to be an edge for the Giants. In other words, he wants to make sure the Cowboys are just as motivated as the Giants.

You can always count on Pro Bowl safety Ken Hamlin to simplify things. He scoffed at a question about the difficulty of beating a good team three times.

"I'm thinking about beating them one time," Hamlin said. "I'm not worried about anything we did in the past."

Patrick Crayton usually isn't one to shy away from a little trash talk. Heck, after the last meeting with the Giants, he had quite a colorful take on the Cowboys marking their territory.

But Crayton won't fill up any Big Apple bulletin boards this week. He acknowledged that there's a lot of bad blood between the NFC East rivals, but he doesn't intend to say anything to add to it.

"You understand the magnitude of what's about to happen," Crayton said of the playoffs. "You understand all the excitement and that everything around you is going to step up to a whole 'nother level, so that's what you've got to do to your game. It's all about the focus and being keyed in. You've got to be locked in this week."

Let's just hope that Brandon "Big Mouth" Jacobs isn't so careful with the New York media.

I wouldn't talk to those turds either if I were them. 1 minute they are praising them, the next, they are talking to them like they are bums. I wouldn't say a word if we win or lose after the game to the media.

Last week the only interview anyone could get from an offensive player was with Bigg and he didn't say anything; he just muttered a few "I don't knows." The media was going nuts trying to get something...I loved it :D

Unfortunately, the league forces teams, coaches, and players to do interviews, conference calls, and regular press conferences. I remember when our Offensive Line said they would self fine each other if anyone spoke to the media, a similar story came out about another team and reports where about possible league punishment.

Correction: Its "make players accessible to the press" rather than "make them do interviews."

So they aren't saying much. Cool. I thought I was the only one who noticed the silence. Lots of speculation articles. Very little commentary from the players.

yep I have been trying to point that out, but it has not sunk in with anyone yet.

the only offensive player who talked to the media all last week was leonard davis and it wasnt an accident. You should have seen the one question he answered. When asked about the offense losing confidence, he stuttered through a bunch of I dont knows and then smiled!!

witten talked today, but no one else did. Only bradie, marcus, cant and akin talked last week from the defense.

I hope none of them say squat all week, with the slithering idiots that show up to ask them questions like matt moseley and everyone from espn.

I wouldn't break the rules or anything, but they would get next to nothing out of my mouth.

The defense seems to be taking all the interviews and the offense is keeping quiet. And the defense is just giving the standard politically correct rhetoric. I just want to see them let their play do their talking.

This is what they need to do. There's been too much mouth running whether straight up trash talking or unintentional shots at one's personal life. The players need to learn the media is not their friend(Im talkin to you, 81!!) and shut up.

The media tools have another 5 days to coax something out of someone. Hope its the Giants.

I'm not watching or listening to much this week. All the ESPN "yelling" is getting to me.

I think you're right Hos. I think this team is going to come out Sunday focused and motivated. We win this game convincingly.

I'm sick and tired of hearing the 'they haven't played well for a month now' mantra. We need this to be a statement game. We need to physically dominate the Giants in every facet of the game, sending a message to the rest of the league - the Patriots in particular - that, to paraphrase Kurt Russell in 'Tombstone', "We're commin' and we're bringing Hell with us..."
