That brady james is less active and prone to get stuck dancing with blockers, i mean don't get me wrong he's decent but why is he getting outplayed by a 34yr old brooking this year plus zach thomas last year...its like he's invisible out there during games. We need him to create some turnovers or hard hits every once in awhile, but i just don't see that killer instinct from him.

Brady James leads the team in tackles. But he's "invisible" and "decent"?

those stats can be misleading..did you pay attention to the new orleans game? Yes he is decent thats it, to stiff in the hips and slow the eagles will look to exploit him with dump offs to the running backs trust me.

I think he's pretty visible week in and week out. He's never been a big hitter and never will be. But he can sift through traffic and get to the ball with the best of 'em.

Bradies job in the 34 is to take on blocks and play strong at the point of attack. Brooking's job is to play off, blitz more and play in coverage. It's part of the scheme.

I disagree. He's not flashy, but he's definitely a big baller. He's sort of the quiet leader while Brookings is the vocal one. As ABQ pointed out, it's about scheme.

Um, really? :lmao2:

Bradie was twice the linebacker Thomas was last year. Or maybe you forgot the fact that he had 8 sacks last year, which lead the league for MLBs, not to mention being the most by one in several years.

Bradie is less visible this year because he has Brooking, who is the first ILB next to him to actually fulfill his full responsibilities, now Bradie doesn't have to pick up the slack.

I don't care what either Bradie James or Keith Brooking look like to the Pope, as long as this defense holds top ten offenses to about 16-17 points per game. Then it's on the offense to break open a winning margin. They should too...

I notice that Brady is doing his job and part of doing that job is not over pursuing on plays he has responsibilities to not allow the play to be cut back to his area which would happen if gets caught chasing plays. I think Brady is doing a fine job

actually right now Bradie is neither underrated or over rated. Which is rare for a cowboy.

Im not saying he is a bad player, but i've watched games and seen on replays the bad angles and below average athletic ability that leads to 6 or nine 9 yard gains. You remember how brandon jacobs totally outran him. How do you think philly will expose him with their backs?

The defense is built to have Brookings position lead the team in tackles, but Bradie James is yet again the leader. He's having another very good season and isn't near as much a liability in pass defense as in years past.

James Focused On Team, Not Pro Bowl
Posted by rphillips at 12/31/2009 5:41 PM CST on truebluefanclub.com

Bradie James felt optimistic about his Pro Bowl chances last year, when his eight sacks were the most by a Cowboys inside linebacker since sacks became an official statistic in 1982. It didn’t happen.

James is enjoying another good season, leading the defense in tackles (175) for the fifth straight year. But last year’s snub prepared him not to see his name on the NFC all-star roster this week.

Head coach Wade Phillips gave Pro Bowl endorsements to both starting inside linebackers, James and Keith Brooking (154), and said the 3-4 scheme can offset each player's individual production. And James' sack total (1) is down because he hasn't been asked to rush as much.

“Yeah, you're sharing all that, and both of us have over a hundred tackles,” James said. “It's just how it is in a 3-4. Hopefully, if the Pro Bowl ever goes to a 3-4, I might have a chance. But if they stay in the 4-3, you know, this might be that.

“But I'm not discouraged about it or anything. Of course, I would like to do. I'd be crazy to sit here and say I don't want to go to the Pro Bowl."

"Eventually one day, if my body holds up," he laughed. "Maybe year 12."

With all due respect to your post how many of those tackles came after five yard gains and how many were for loss of yards? Even though the cowboys have not given up a hundred yard rusher this season you'll notice the ypc. average is high in more than half the games.

I thought it was James' spot that is designed to have more tackles.

It must have been pretty low in the other half of the games, because we're ranked 9th in the league in rush defense by yards per carry.

I believe that was Spencer getting outran.
