I am RMA'd my Samsung 840 because it unexpectedly died... I've RMA'd hardware before but never with Samsung...

How was your experience?
How long was your wait time? (sending and receiving)
Was your equipment repaired or replaced?

I haven't dealt with them and RMAs but most companies have fast turnarounds on replacement drives because they have replacement drives ready to ship out. Sometimes those drives are refurbished, sometimes they are older stock, etc., but they usually just have to confirm it's a valid RMA request.

That said, what happened to your 840? I've been using Samsung 840 and 850s without any issues.

It just stopped working. one day it just locked up and wouldn't boot from its partition and when I reformatted it wasn't being detected in my bios. I checked/swapped the cables, swapped ports, and tried it on my wife's laptop and it wouldn't detect even though Samsung magician said it was "healthy." The random times it would detect I would try to install my OS on it but it would blue screen and lock up again.

I've had something similar happen to one of my other ssds (120gb Kingston hyper-x) but the only difference was the drive would still be detected in my bios and device manager although it was a dead drive.
