I dont know if any of you have downloaded this and found yourself amazed and addicted to it, but most certainly have downloaded it and have become addicted to it.

If you have nothing better to do I would highly recommend you download it.

BTW it is a satellite view of the world type thing, but...anyway just download it and enjoy.

Is it "live" or "snapshot"? That's one heck of snapshot!

It is a snapshot. Keep in mind that some of the "snapshots" has much more clear resolution than others.

For example, you can see Dallas in pretty good detail, but can not see Po-Dunk Middle Of No Where all that good.

I've got it and it is great.
But if you're searching for something that's not in a big city, it looks like a blur of nothing.

I was easily able to spot my old house, school, and workplace in Fort Lauderdale, FL but can't find any of that in my present location.

The data they source is 4-6 years old. This is not a real-time proggie. Us here at the state source the same data Goggle does. Some sectors are updated yearly but most arent.

Its still a really neat tool. I teach my son Greography on it. He's 4 and it really holds his attention.

I looked at my house, I have a shed in the back, built a year and a half ago, and the Google Earth doesn't have it on there.

Haven't heard of this. Is there a link?

Here you go Hos.

http://earth.google.com/

Download the free version. It is pretty self explanatory. Click on downloads on the left side of the page and then pick "Google Earth", that will get you the free version.

Let me know what you think Hos.

I have found some cool sites on this.

Area 51 is pretty amazing. I was actually surprised I found it. You can actually see tire tracks off the end of one runway.

Ground Zero is heartbreaking.

The USS Arizona is too.

I found the pyramids but the the Sphinx. I think it must blend in too well.

I haven't found Stonehenge yet.

You can see the yard numbers at Texas Stadium.

You can see whales at Seaworld.

Mt. Everest is cool. I also found a site that has a 360 degree view from the peak of Everest.

Red Square in Russia is kind of cool.

I like this. Appreciate the heads up.

Pretty fun.

I knew Ground Zero was on the lower end of Manhattan. It sticks out. I also found the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building while there.

For Everest I found a site that had the GPS coordinates and I used the GPS locator in the bottom left of the site.

The USS Arizona was not easy. I found Pearl Harbor and then scanned the whole thing. until I spotted the white structure built over it.

I found that when you get to a city you can enter a place. Sea World once I was in San Diego. H & M Landing too.

That's how I found Texas Stadium too.

I knew the layout of DC and found all the sites there.

The Pyramids I went to Cairo Egypt and then scanned out a little and found them. Still haven't found the Sphinx.

I got lucky on Area 51.
