I've seen alot of people say he is an over rated player and such and not a top NFL corner.

I want to know if anyone is still that clueless and doesn't believe he is a top corner?

I wish Dallas could get that guy. To bad he'll be getting about 9 mill a year.

They did lose

HE got beat on that one TD that put the Giants on top 10-7. What was the last time you saw Asante Samuel play man to man? that' what I thought also.

Doesn't every Patriots player look great till they play for another team? I'll pass.

Yea funny how Givens; David Patton etc have looked like garabaged; been injured etc since leaving there.

That does have to make one wonder

on that GW drive by the Giants Samuel did drop a game saving INT...

He's perfect in the Pats zone scheme, but I don't think he'd fit our system as well. Gay might be a nice guy to get as a 3rd DB, but I'd much rather draft a CB (or 2) and let them grow as a nickle back.

Exactly. So much for having a great instinct for the ball. Samuel cannot play man to man to save his life. He's more of a roamer and zone kinda guy.

This game was not decided by CBs or Safeties; it was decided by Defensive Linemen and DEs. The Giants brought theirs; the Pats' played like patsies. This is important because it emphasizes the need to BLITZ, and Dallas does NOT do enough of it. I'm tired of seeing Ware going out to coverage becauscse we play a 3-4. F&^% THAT! Make him a DE once and for all and turn him loose!

You guys are crazy.

All the guy does is make plays.

Which makes no sense that the Pats let him walk instead of locking him up.

The Colts locked Dwight Freeny up with out even blinking if Samuel was that good the Pats would have locked him up.

In fact I rather go after Trufant who may cost a little less than Samuel

Hamlin and Trufant don't like each other, I doubt Jerry will sign both guys...

The fact is he is overrated. Just because he makes big plays on a consistent basis doesnt change the fact that he gives up a lot of big plays on a consistent basis.

You guys are insane. You make it sound like unless a guy plays absolutely perfect every single down, then he can't be considered elite.

Asante may get overpaid, but not by virtue of his not being talented but by virtue of how hard it is to find a talented corner in this league.

Asante: Not worth the money.
There are some good cb's in the draft, The Giants have a super unit in Defensive ends. They have been drafting good pass rushers for 3 or 4 years to add to their strength of Strahan and Osi.
Maybe a quick fix is to have a super secondary, trade williams away and get 4 primo cover guys. If the draft drops one of the good corners down, Leotis from Troy covers like a Mofo.

Asante Samuel is beyond overrated... I can't stand him or Rodney Harrison.

Reeves - Asante - Reeves - Asante - Reeves - Asante....
We don't have to get Asante, but if we go into next year with Reeves as our 3rd corner, items will be torn up in my house.
