I don't think even BP is that stupid. He can demand deadlines all he wants but if the job offer comes after the "deadline" Payton can still take it and tell BP to go piss up a rope.

Not from what I've been able to find out. They have finished their interviews and are doing their evaluations of the meetings. The decisions is expected very soon but it has not happened yet.

Mort said this weekend that Payton needed to commit to the Cowboys in a timely manner.

I see no reason why Bill would impose a deadline. He understand how the interview process works and also knows should Payton get hired it will be done so in ample time to find a replacement because the teams doing the hiring will want to have their man in place before the start of NFL business which will not take place until a couple of weeks after the SB is played.
