Has BP gotten JJ scared?

no. JJ just looks slow this year, I dunno why , maybe the added bulk, but he doesn't have the same burst he had last year.

I haven't seen anyone post this but I absolutely believe JJ is running too conservatively. He has two hands on the ball half the time and in general is trying not to be too fancy. He isn't near as flashy as he was last year.

He was having a great game today, but we we needed two tds to get back in the game so we started throwing the ball alot. At one point he had over 80 yards and was averaging over 4 yds per carry.

I agree JJ is not the same player as last year. He looks like he is looking for someone to run into instead of trying to get past them.

yes,I believe so,when he gets into the second level he seems to put 2 hands around the ball to protect. Thus not allowing him to have good balance. I think the whole BP patience and let your blocks develop may not work for JJ and his style. I thought today could have been a big game for him, I dont think being too predictable in the second half helped him. The jury is still out on how good he can be

Bulk will slow you down in certain instances..some players can carry more and still be effective..but others slow down and lose a step..not sure if it is the case with JJ but I think he will be fine

you guys are crazy, bp didnt give jj the ball at all in the second half, he was doing fine before that. Your not going to get 60 yard runs every play. This year we actually have a balanced attack so we are passing much more. Just look at sand diego, tomlinson doesnt break 100 yards often but he gets 2 plus tds a game. And when needed hell go off and have big games. I believe the same thing is happening with jj. The reason he had so many yards and big games last year was becuase we couldnt pass and we just ran it every time. I am very satisfied with his play and you guys just need to relax, theres no problem with him.

Yeah, our running game is not good enough right now. JJ is avg. 3.5 ypc for the season which is terrible and his long run for the yr. is 14 yards. I am not too down on JJ and still think he is a heck of a back, but I was surprised his career ypc is now only 3.98 and he has been held under 4 ypc in 8 of his 11 NFL games.

That is what I mean- BP has intimidated him to the point that he is playing it safe and its costing him and us. He did not fumble much at all, really, only one so far this year, but he is worrying about it too much. BP needs to back off on him.

We virtually gave up on the run way too early today- we needed more draws to make the D respect it- they sure didn't in the second half.

Burm, I don't know how you can say that. Why would you not throw the ball more when you need two tds in the second half? You want to run the ball up the gut and run the clock? I am all for running the ball, but not in that situation.

You can either be in denial or look at it for what it's worth, bootom line he doesn't look like the same back this year.

Not too worried about JJ at all. His "numbers" would look better if you took into account his 3-5 decent runs, called back by holding penalties.

Also, probably the key point here - besides the niners, we played two of the top run defenses in the league in SD and Skins.

Julius is fine. SD and Wash are good vs the run and SF was a game where we had to pass ourselves out of a hole. I think the run blocking has been a little inconsistent. I've seen some hesitation in his game, but he's looked just as fast as I remember him last year.

I know the O line has not been getting him holes, but they were not that great last year. He just does not seem as quick- was this on Natural Grass or is it turf?
He definitly is not taking chances like he did last year.

Hey, I've got an idea, let's resign Troy Hambrick and dump Julius. LOL

Julius is doing fine.

The secret is out ladies and gentlemen, teams know they need to stop Julius so they gameplan to do just that.

It looks like BP has made Jj as conservative as him. In order for a RB to make a big gain, he usually has to take chances. For example, Barry Sanders would often have many negative plays, and then he would go the distance. BP has told Jj that he doesn't want negative plays. As a result, Jj has stopped taking chances, which is why he doesn't look as creative or flashy as he did last season. Just my opinion.
