The guy is making plays. He still lacks some polish on the small details at times but the guy is off to a good start and has made big plays in both of our wins.


A few other thoughts...


Demarcus Lawrence just looks unbelievable. He is in the backfield almost every play. When we get David Irving back and put those 2 on the field at the same time then I think we will have a heck of a pass rush.

We just need the guys on the back in to get better. The young guys have to start growing up quick.

Jaylon Smith still looks a little clumsy out there and i'm ready to get Hitchens back. Our coverage will improve once he is back.

I don't understand why they are using Jaylon over Damien Wilson on obvious passing downs.

Please get DEZ the ball!

We throw Dez a simple pass.. None of that 50/50 BS, and one of the best YAC Receivers in the league sure enough carries almost an entire defense into the endzone.

Why do the Cowboys not get it with him? Just put the ball in his hands and let him work. He's Adrian Peterson once he gets that big body moving but instead we're just lobbing up passes to him most of the time.. Come on.


Congrats to Dez for being top 6 all time in TD's in their first 100 NFL games. He probably should've been top of that list but the last few years have been a roller coaster.

If you noticed last night Catch Linny motioned Dez quite a bit last night! Finally.

And Butler is our deep threat we've been waiting for IMO.

Butlers biggest issues IMO were being a dumb player. Looks like he might be getting better at mistakes now. He actually reminds me of Alvin Harper. Can make the best circus catches, but struggles with the easy stuff.
 
If he can maintain focus he can be a very good WR but he is a replacable receiver he does nothing special, getting open deep can be found in FA every year.
 
Dez needs to be motioned all over the field and given the ball while moving. He's much like TO in that they are very dangerous with the ball in their hand and some momentum.

Those little spot routes over the middle..

Instead of letting Witten always do it while Dez run 50 yards downfield how about giving Dez the ball in those situations from time to time.

We are wasting his YAC ability.

He reminds me of Laurent Robinson. Robinson also had good rapport with Romo when Romo was scrambling around.
 
We need to see it next week too. I can't say he's arrived yet but I'm hoping. I've been hard on him but if they can get just those 2 to 3 catches downfield a week, It changes the entire offense. I'm excited but I just want to see more of it from him.

But he gets open deep a lot. Just hard to see him over the corners and the throw has to be perfect.
 
I always thought Butler was a good addition to the team, made some key plays last season, so never understood the dislike of him by so many. We have so many weapons on the team and only so many opportunities to spread the ball among them.

On DLaw, we haven't had a force like him since DWare. Teams are now having to game plan him involving double teams, etc. This will result in some nice mismatches across the dline as well as blitz schemes. I think our dfense is just getting rolling!
 
butler needs to replace williams. hes earned a stating nod over the the ghost of t will.
