Tolbert deserves WR2 reps right now...he is showing hunger, which I can't say more many on this team

I mean he’s the 3rd receiver….what are the reps like for the 2nd and 3rd guy? I’d assume it’s similar.
on this team, there is Lamb and then everybody else...somebody has to step up for the Lamb double teams. We miss Ferguson in this situation bigtime and Tolbert is the only other one who seems to be trying to step up

I’m just saying I don’t think it’s a lack of reps is his issue.

Brooks might be the new Dennis Houston. I remember all the hype with him in training camp and how he had chemistry with Dak but then he was waived a few weeks into the season after doing nothing

Weak *** camps be having this team over confident in talent until week 1 comes and gets hit with dose of reality.

Cutting him is fan over reaction but he’s questionable with an ankle . Sit him and have Flournoy a part of the passing game . This might be like Lou Gehrig , once Flournoy plays you won’t be able to get him out of the lineup .

And with Ferguson back this should also help an offense . Running will be tough against the Ravens , Ferguson & Flournoy help through the air .

He's fine at this point we need speed

We do have speed ... we have two 4.3. speed guys in Cooks and Turpin.

We need coaches that know how to best utilize and scheme for speed guys ..
- we simply do not have that kind of coashes in this Carthy coach staff.

What if Cooks, Turpin were with the Chiefs offense ? ... or Detroit,.... Miami ... Houston ..?

This Tex Coast offense seems like it's geared towards possession offense ... not a break wide open, splash/vertical offense

Jalen Brooks runs a high 4.5 40. He might be one of our slowest wr’s.
Actually a 4,5 is pretty normal for a wide receiver that's a good time you wanna know why and I'm betting he was even slower than this as he got older

Michael Irvin/40 yard dash time
4.52 seconds

Jerry Rice/40 yard dash time
4.71 seconds

so maybe before you put up a number like 4.5 as if it's bad you might wanna check yourself there are some receivers that are faster yeah those are typically your slot receivers guys that can take the top off the defense but that's not your average receiver I guarantee the receivers in the NFL hover around 4.5..FACT

if you want to put down a guy you don't want to call out a very good respectable 4.5..

But better yet you should do your research you're right he's slower than 4.5 but 4.5 is good so let's not discount that but hey he's faster than Jerry Rice so all you need is good hands good route running and make some plays so let's give this kid a chance..

4.69-second

Wide receiver Jalen Brooks runs official 4.69-second 40-yard dash at 2023 combine.

Using 2 exceptions to make a rule is a lesson in futility. Mostly, WR's who run a sub 4.55 are too slow. Yes, there are exceptions(Cooper Kupp, ahem), but mostly it's true. If not, the WR either needs to be an extreme route runner(Boldin ran a slow 40) or like 8 foot tall. Is Brooks either one of these? What physical skillset are you touting that makes you think he'll be one of the exceptions?

It happens every year. Some scrub WR makes plays in camp and people are like, oh he may have something, and then nada in the regular season.

The WR position can be like that. Not just for the cowboys either. It’s like that across the league.

Getting open against a Walmart checker is a completely different thing than creating separation against Marshawn Lattimore.
