Don't see it. He's not really a Brady friendly receiver. Neither was Cooks, but Cooks' supreme speed, quicks and lack of whininess made up for it, for a year -- and now he's gone. Most of Brady's 500+ Super Bowl yards last year were after Cooks went out with the concussion. The subject of Dez is a dead horse, but Ill give the OP credit for tweaking it a bit.
Is it actually possible hes played his last down?
I highly doubt it. Dez is too young to be done, surely there is a team that his skills can help. I would love to see him in New England personally. Im not sure if he succeeds but I think he gets one more chance to show he still has it.
My money's on Hogan, Decker, and Edelman (slot) being their starting 3 receivers, knowing the Patriots. But Edelman is suspended the first 4 games. Unfortunately for Dez, he can't play slot receiver, so he'd probably have to be the 4th receiver there no matter what as well. 4th receiver = only spot and minimal snaps, and he doesn't play ST.
Dez must find a situation where he'll be a starting 2 outside receiver. Doesn't matter if he's the #1 or #2, that's really just a designation, as long as he gets to be an outside starter. There's only a handful of teams right now that don't have a #1 and #2 locked in right now.
