Has Bryant played his last down in the NFL?

The subject of Dez is a dead horse, but Ill give the OP credit for tweaking it a bit.

Is it actually possible hes played his last down?

I highly doubt it. Dez is too young to be done, surely there is a team that his skills can help. I would love to see him in New England personally. Im not sure if he succeeds but I think he gets one more chance to show he still has it.
Don't see it. He's not really a Brady friendly receiver. Neither was Cooks, but Cooks' supreme speed, quicks and lack of whininess made up for it, for a year -- and now he's gone. Most of Brady's 500+ Super Bowl yards last year were after Cooks went out with the concussion.

My money's on Hogan, Decker, and Edelman (slot) being their starting 3 receivers, knowing the Patriots. But Edelman is suspended the first 4 games. Unfortunately for Dez, he can't play slot receiver, so he'd probably have to be the 4th receiver there no matter what as well. 4th receiver = only spot and minimal snaps, and he doesn't play ST.

Dez must find a situation where he'll be a starting 2 outside receiver. Doesn't matter if he's the #1 or #2, that's really just a designation, as long as he gets to be an outside starter. There's only a handful of teams right now that don't have a #1 and #2 locked in right now.

With a week and a half before the start of the season, and him not having a team yet, it's not out of the realm of possibility to think that Dez Bryant might not be back in this league.

A longshot? Sure. But it is possible.

I don't know I just feel he will sign somewhere on a team friendly deal or he will not play. I think in the end he will play, no evidence just my own gut feeling. I think while Dez has his negatives I think he is still a highly competitive person and will not be happy sitting out the season or ending his career like this

And if he does get picked up will these threads stop? Or are we going to have to follow him game by game? Talk about being obsessed. I wish Dez well but I'm not obsessed with him. I've moved on. All I care about is that these new WR's end up better than Dez.

I'll say this, I am really surprised no team has picked him up. He would be a solid #2 WR on any team.

Weird how everything has played out since his release.

I highly doubt anyone would have predicted that he would still be without a team this late in the preseason.
Just review last years Seattle game.
However that said, when receivers start going down this reg. season, he'll probably get called up.

no tthey wont stop, nor should you expect that.
once a player who has been here awhile, leaves, fans still like him or have an interest in him, it is just the way it is.
I still follow players who leave cowboys.
It isnt obsession, just interest .

Yea but you don't constantly make threads just for the sake of bashing someone.

wouldn't that be great, cowboys get to NFC championship. Dez tweets, " I just ordered pizza, gonna watch cowboys". Oh, the irony of life. .. ;)

Jason Garret, on the other hand, must be real proud that a first round player that has only been coached by him can't get a job anywhere in a nfl team.

Wouldn't say he is not "Brady friendly". If Brady can get the ball to Gronk he can get the ball to Dez.

Just look how many times Gronk is blanketed and Brady places the ball where Gronk can go up and get it.

Exactly what Dez needs.

Yes not the type of receivers they have been using, but no doubt in my mind they could make it work if they wanted it to. Their just really stingy.
