Has Dak alienated much of the Fanbase

I don't blame Dak for being greedy. I blame Jerry for giving him his recent contract- and for the excessive restructures of his previous contract that pushed the team to make this mistake. The dead money hit if Dak was not re-signed was insane. Dallas should have never been in that position.

I think the fans have alienated Dak more than Dak alienating us.

He's a convenient scapegoat for 29 years of failure. Switch QBs all you want but the problem with this team is at the top. Just as it has been since the last of Jimmy Johnson's draft picks lost their effectiveness in the late 90s.
You make too much sense.

How can anyone blame him for taking the money?

I hold nothing against him. He's just not that good. Not his fault, that's just the way it is
Yup. Close thread.

I have nothing against Dak. Just wish he was better at QB.

I blame the FO for resigning him

The Dak contract was horrendous when signed but as time goes on, it just gets worse.
The fact that Dak had to hold out for the Maximum amount feasible rubs me, and others I'm sure, just for the fact that he came across as more greedy than committed to winning.
Watching all the FA activity for all the other teams and how so many don't sign to the maximum but for amounts they seem respectable.
But not Dak. He didn't seem to give a squat about helping the team. He signed the most crippling contract he could for the teams sake.
Not only will his contract hinder us presently, with the restructures where they convert his salary to a bonus, he will be causing us cap problems well after he is gone for two to three years afterwards.
While his restructuring helps us short term, it will limit us for many years.
Dak is a greedy mediocre player
Hes on the roster because he toes the line with Jerry and keeps the team average
Cant wait till this doofus is gone

When he was a rookie, Romo was still being paid. False premise.
Romo only played one year with Dak....if Romo kept getting paid when he retired, then shame on him for not giving all that money back, for the team to use....lol!

We should have let Dak test free agency, rolled with Lance for a year, and rolled the dice this year or next on a rookie prospect.

Not alienated. Many fans now see QB1 isn't going to take this team anywhere, so now everyone simply waits till he's gone and they get a guy who can do something. Fans should be kinda indifferent or at least detached emotionally about getting to a SB.
In fairness Jethro is not trying to go anywhere.

Some fans still have faith in him. I don’t.
I figured that the next 3 to 4 seasons we will pretty much spinning our wheels no matter how much Jones & Sons spend in free agency or how many home runs we hit in the draft. Dak taking this team a NFC Championship game is a pipe dream.
I’m going to casually watch for the next 3 or 4 seasons just to see how much more his play deteriorates.

Well, he kept saying things like : "'I don't play for money. Never have, never cared for it." He then proceeded to become the highest paid player in NFL history. So he did himself no favors endearing himself to fans. But, if he was any good and showed up in big games, nobody would care.

That said, the whole mess of his contract falls squarely on Jerry Jones. He's the idiot that made the offer.

Dak won't finish another season because his line will fail to protect him. Season ending injury is his new thing. Hell yes that alienates the fanbase.

If our new head coach is serious he would invest in a young QB asap.

He still had Dead Cap hit when he was gone.
So my point stands, Dak was on a rookie contract. No one blamed Romo for tucking tail and taking the money.....some accuse Dak of faking a torn ligament, did they accuse Romo of faking his injuries? That's why I think it's hilarious....fans being fans, I know....but it's still comical

Jerry alienated the fan base by resigning an aging quarterback to a ridiculous deal that is coming off two major injuries, has lost his ability to extend plays with his legs(granted he's was no Jackson of course), and has played ridiculously bad in the playoffs bar a game.

But fans want to say Jerry did not spend money with Dak Rookie contract. The money went to Romo.
