Has Dak alienated much of the Fanbase

I would just say that if you or I were in Dak's shoes, we'd be seeking the highest possible deal. And why should Dak or anyone else playing for this broken, dysfunctional franchise with zero hope of ever winning a ring, offer a home town discount for the privilege of playing for the Jones clowns?
Dak did hold out for the shorter term contract which was unprecedented. I couldn't find one QB who signed a true four year deal prior to Dak. Many signed four year deals but all of them had at least one year left on their existing contracts making the deal at least a five year deal for cap purposes.

Love him or hate it for that, but it was a me first move which nobody had insisted on before.

I guess he was a leader on that front.

The Dak contract was horrendous when signed but as time goes on, it just gets worse.
The fact that Dak had to hold out for the Maximum amount feasible rubs me, and others I'm sure, just for the fact that he came across as more greedy than committed to winning.
Watching all the FA activity for all the other teams and how so many don't sign to the maximum but for amounts they seem respectable.
But not Dak. He didn't seem to give a squat about helping the team. He signed the most crippling contract he could for the teams sake.
Not only will his contract hinder us presently, with the restructures where they convert his salary to a bonus, he will be causing us cap problems well after he is gone for two to three years afterwards.
While his restructuring helps us short term, it will limit us for many years.

I didnt like the contract from the start but the fact that Josh Allen signed for less and is a way better QB makes it even worse. Pure greed - he doesnt care about winning. Yeah, everyone wants to win but others do things to help win.

Dallas were fools giving into his demands. He would never get this money in the open market.

Or Jerry was a follower.

Then that makes the FO double fools..again if im bargaining with a company I KNOW doesnt care about being good im damn sure gonna get a pay day to come work in that train wreck....all Jerry had to say was NO...

Jerry misread the tea leaves.

Let's be honest here. A lot of people in any field, would be willing to take a little less money, if they love the environment they work in.

However, if the environment sucks, you are only staying for the money.

If that is true, that tells me that Dak does not care about his legacy as a SB Champion and MVP, it tells me he is out for nothing else but money.

Mahomes even said he did not care about being the highest paid QB, he wanted to be know as a Champion of SB's. Then we have players like Dak that say they need to feed their family. smdh. Dak has no concern about pride and legacy of the Dallas Freaking Cowboys, just himself.

Next up, Parsons the man child will follow suit.

The Joneses wouldn't have spent money in free agency anyway
Possibly, but I will never give up hope that things will turn around. Paying Dak the way they did and the way he insisted makes it sure that we won't win playoff games.

I would not handle it like Dak on the money or running my dumb pie hole.

100%. I can and have taken less money to be where I wanted in the job I wanted. I refuse to let money rule me.

How can anyone blame him for taking the money?

I hold nothing against him. He's just not that good. Not his fault, that's just the way it is
I’m getting tired of giving people passes for taking the money. Get the bag! Money money! Tired of this take from people, it’s not healthy for society.

Dak isn’t some late round draft pick who played 4 years making 700k a season so he’s going to trying to maximize his potential, that I totally understand. Dallas has been extremely loyal to him and he’s been paid well throughout his career. He’s already setup his family for multiple generations.

Maybe I’m just getting old and grumpy but I’m tired of money always being priority #1 as if these guys are fighting to pay off a mortgage or else loose their home and can’t afford to put food on the table.

You'd do the same thing.

Players care about money first, second, and third. Winning is a cute bonus to them

Dak didn’t steal his contract. Jerry gave it to him. No matter how smart Dak and his agent are they will never have as much money as Jerry Jones. You’d think Jerry would know better. The Cowboys are owned by a person that does not know what he’s doing. Somehow idiots think that’s Dak Prescott’s problem.

It isn’t.

Yep, all these guys who are sitting safely on their recliners want the guys who are putting their bodies at risk to gruesome injuries to take less money.

Such an asinine position. None of these guys would take a pay cut if they worked for the worst manager in their entire corporation who also happened to be in charge of payroll.

..nah, Dak has just been quiet. I guess waiting for camp to prove things for 25'.
