Has Dak alienated much of the Fanbase

Imagine being mad at a player and his agent for doing exactly what they should be doing and what the NFLPA want them to do, which is maximizing their earnings. Y'all are directing your energy to the wrong person.
We are blaming him, not for being paid the money, but for sucking whilst taking it. Never think we arent blaming Jerry first, but if his captain isnt playing up to a contract.....he's also on the list.

I wouldn’t have paid Dak, if I was GM. Since I’m not I had no say in the matter. I think it was most likely a mistake and I think over time that perspective will more than likely be proven right.

I become more sour on Dak over time. It’s also the Cowboys’ fault for agreeing to pay him that much money with a no trade clause etc, no tag clause etc. I don’t think Dak is that good myself. He wilts under pressure.

I would love to see him light it up and a win a SB I just don’t see that ever happening.

After this contract debacle I would draft a QB high, let him compete with Dak and then let Dak demand a trade. Thats about the only way I see this contract situation playing out well.
I agree, Prescott's contract is a huge weight around this organization's neck and he's NEVER, EVER going SNIFF a SB! I'm hoping Parsons is traded for a couple of decent 2026 draft picks, I'm also hoping that the Cowboys do a lot worse than last season. If this happens the Boys could possibly be in the running for Arch Manning in the 2026 draft. If the top pick in the 2026 draft already has their QB for the future, Jerry should pull a Mike Ditka and trade every pick they have in the 2026 NFL Draft to move up into the No.1 pick to get Arch Manning who could be relevant for the next 10 - 15 yrs if he stays healthy. The Boys could easily repeat the early 90s with a great young QB...................

I've been a staunch defender of Dak's, but it's pretty impossible to defend his play at this point. Furthermore, with players like Burrow, Mahomes, and now Allen taking team-friendly deals to help the team, it's becoming harder and harder to defend Dak's character when he says he doesn't play for money and then doesn't do anything financially to help the team. I'd never go into another man's wallet, and I know he's only getting a little more than half of that after taxes, but it's enough money (especially factoring in his endorsements and other revenue streams) that I'd certainly go to Jerry and take $35m a year so he could sign another WR1 and a perennial DT if I were him. He doesn't seem like a bad person or anything, but he doesn't seem to care as much about winning as he claims.

Dak talks out of both sides of his mouth.

Simple question.

Average QB tells team to make him the highest paid player in the league, the team's GM says "sure, you are worth it".

Fans pissed at the player:huh:

Are we supposed to feel sorry for Jerry that he is such an incompetent idiot that players can bend him over the table and not even have to buy him dinner first?

So, Dak swindled Jerry (who is a billionaire) out of a couple of hundred million and we are supposed to be made at Dak over that?

I feel Dak lost many of his fans when he made false comments about not caring about the money but then, fighting for all he could get. If that wasn't enough, he then suggested that he wanted to help his teammates get their fair share, also. Being disingenuous isn't the best way to keep friends. (jmho).

C'mon, all players, high or low, have an agent. Blame our president for allowing them...

You don't think they can get those players with the $40.5M (as of today) in cap space this year?

Expecting someone to leave $20-25M/yr on the table for a front office to do nothing with is frankly... stupid. Im not defending Dak, Im being realistic.

Yall blaming him instead a front office thats doing nothing.

As a fan, you (we) have the luxury of looking at one years cap space at a time. The less than healthy CAP space in years 2026-7 is also a consideration (....and my main criticism of 'the contract' is the length).
Once Jerry messed up 2024 by not taking a definitive strategy of either RETOOL or All-IN this year was always likely to be Year 2 of not really competing (well maybe fighting for 7th seed, and that's not worth spending that CAP).
In 2025, FO needs to see whether there's: a bounce in the recent poor drafts, lightning from these FA once highly thought of prospects and whether Daks got anything left.....if not there's a tear down coming in 2026 (inc possibly Dak getting cut).

Not his teammates, his "brethren", whatever the hades he meant by that.

The more Dak gets, the less his teammates get. I mean, this guys is beyond dumb if he doesn't know that.

Yeah, there SHOULD be a teardown, but that's what should've happened in 2025. Jerry is like many fans here, he does not understand teardowns or the reasons for them. He'll pathetically try to keep on winning 8-9 games instead of tearing it down.

You have no credibilty...it's all shock statements coming from you that side step important pieces of info...it's the boards go-to tactic

Dak doesn't deserve a nice contract even though he has produced great numbers and gotten his teams to the playoffs. Been the QB for a few top rated offenses and has done it with low turnovers.

But make a Mike Ditka type offer for Manning? What has he showed on the field to make that claim?

We already know that you're going to rely on team stats to water Dak down or use playoff stats. Playoffs...where teams are tough.

How low will you go for shock value or to attempt mind control?
