Has Jerry talked yet? If not, why isn't this the talk right now? Could it mean something good?

He is still trying to get sober. Or Stephen has him locked away somewhere for now. :muttley:

I was thinking this yesterday, wonder why Jerry has not said anything yet. Probably he and Stephen re still discussing options.
Do they replace Linehan, do they extend Garrett or give him another year. But I think we know what happens there.

What to with Rod, how to make Richard the DC and still fit in Rod's input.

What to do with all the cap money that they normally have not had, and how to be wise with it.

They have a lot going on. Don't expect much until around SB or shortly after actually.
Maybe some reserves / futures contracts will be announced in the next week or so.

Good stuff, I agree

I hope this is a big aggressive offseason with changes to coaching staff. Hit the free market and get some more difference makers and make the decision to put all cards in now and make a deep playoff run with a Super Bowl.

We all know it’s going to be the same thing.

“We think Jason is a fabulous coach who will win us many championships.”

He is busy looking at the man in the mirror. Like he does every offseason.

It's a safe bet that he talked to Garrett yesterday.

Yeah, probably did. And drunkenly gave him another vote of confidence and the promise of an extension if he can finish next season with another 8-8.

LOL, unbelievable he has not said a word to the camera yet. Should feel bad, an away game and you have more fans there than the home team and lay an egg like that. That crowd was better than our home crowd and you lose.

I think the backtracking on Linehan is a clear sign his head is still on the block...

IMO— Garrett had a solid year. Solid— not spectacular. He rallied the team and was stuck with some bad FO moves— but overall won the division and won a playoff game.

The debacle in the Rams game comes down to mediocrity on some offensive drives— and our run D absolutely getting slaughtered.

Garrett trusts his coordinators and I believe NO ONE saw the butt kicking our D received coming. NO ONE.

I am fine with JG returning— no extension— or an extension you can get out of easily next year. Fire Linehan and get Dak as much support as possible. Promote Richard to DC.

If we don’t win the NFCCG next year... Garrett is gone and Richard is an in house option to replace him.

The first two weeks following the finish of a season, the team recovers shortly, and then the team decides it's stance on schemes, results, coaches, and staff. They determine directions and how the metal measures out for what the team believes then. This is the first direction.

To circumvent the after-action-analysis, would be a very foolish incident, even for a talkative Jerry Jones. No, things being subdued to the press, until team directions are decided at the highest levels. A vote of confidence is already in the works, and there is time remaining for the advantage of Jason Garrett.

There would have to be great soul searching by Jerry, for that to change right this second. Jason did lead his team into the playoffs. A top 8 team in the NFC does say something beyond just vain glory.

Garrett rallied the team? They started playing better when Jerry brought in a top receiver, not because of anything JG did. It also helped that most of the teams they played in the winning streak were terrible teams. The Saints game was obviously a fluke, not some genius move by Garrett.

What happens if that Cooper signing isn't made, 3-13? 5-11?

Garrett accomplished with what the Cowboys GM provided. If Cooper had not been acquired, then Oakland would have taken two of the top defensive linemen in the draft...up front.
