Has Micah created a competitive nature to this defense that isn't ready?

We all saw the play of Parsons last season, it was unreal. In the off season we heard Lawrence and Micah challenge each other. It seems that now, certain players have joined in on this. I heard on the radio show where EVERYONE is just trying to make plays, to be THAT GUY.

It's great that Micah has raised that standard, but all we need is 10 more guys, AND Micah to do their job!! I'm not bashing Micah in anyway. His play and him being noticed by all the media is probably making guys to try to do too much. I'm not sure!

Everyone can't be a Micah, just play your role and go hard, give your thoughts

Micah has, but 1 man isn’t enough. Unfortunately, the culture of this team is rotten from top to bottom. It has yet to spoil Micah completely but it’s coming. It always comes. The defense has unfortunately been ruined by said culture and it’s coming for Micah next. He just happens to be more strong willed than his peers.

Micah isn't the beacon or the problem, the spotlight is.

We've players chasing sacks again and again with little regard to "team".

it reminds me of Robert Quinn in his 1 season and he chased a contract with ZERO and I mean ZERO interest in stopping the run. He was 5 yards in the backfield every play so it was 10 against 11 most of the time.

I just feel that attitude is playing out this season. I'd not be shocked to hear the D line have some schoolboy bets on sack numbers.

No it's not Micah.

I was worried about Micah and the defense until he bought and gave our QB his promise ring and I knew at that moment that this promise would be real….. and it would be lasting.

Let's hope so

You're right it's not Micah, but people trying to compete to be the sack leader like every play is a pass

Hes what this defense has needed. Its what guys like Jaylo and Tank never were. He has to be dinged up, however as his play has dropped dramatically.

Micah is a 3-4 linebacker..not a 4-3 linebacker.

You're onto something, but haven't quite pinned it down.

Micah is inspiring players to play for personal stats, to compete with his "production" as far as sacks, and all the other pass rushing statistics.

The problem with that is that it goes away from what DQ preaches to the players: being extensions of each other, rather than playing for yourself.

They have to get this mentality fixed. Or all we'll see is players trying to pad their stats for their next payday, rather than stacking wins on their resume.

Yep that's a classic example of too much of a good thing.
Micah inspired and challenged all these guys and nobody's stupid enough in today's NFL not to realize that sacks enhance your market value when you enter free agency More than just about anything a defender can do.
10 sacks could double your salary in free agency where a Super bowl win might get you a ham sandwich.

Now Micah has pushed himself to the point where he is physically compromised and he's not going to stop until he's injured because he is going for that big payday make no mistake.

Unfortunately Jerry has taught these guys a little too well it's all about the money and how you market yourself to make that money.
He's proven to them that Super bowl wins don't make you the money in the NFL that proper marketing does.

It’s obvious next draft they have to get better at LB . Probably be smart to get some answers the rest of this season in what exactly have Clark and Cox brought to this team from LSU and that heralded program . Barr and 55 are not it . Heck 6th rounder Harper maybe he’s got something . Can’t tell never see any of them except making ST tackles . .

PArsons head is in the clouds man way up there!
he needs to come back down and be more realistic and team oriented.

He also needs to lose some weight lol, he cant do what he used to do without tiring out.
more weight just tires him out and slows him down.
