Has Micah created a competitive nature to this defense that isn't ready?

Unfortunately Jerry has taught these guys a little too well it's all about the money and how you market yourself to make that money.
He's proven to them that Super bowl wins don't make you the money in the NFL that proper marketing does.

Experience, world and life have taught them that, not Jerry.

I remember when Garrett sabotaged Wade and finally got the job and “the culture shift” was massive per his jock riders on this forum, which at that time was about 97%, as Marion Barber got benched at the start of the game for not wearing a tie.

When it was nearing the end, music was blasting in practice and Garrett was great because he could relate to the players and was hip to it. Basically, he was now the thinner version of Wade Phillips apparently, but this time it was a good thing.

Micah is part of the problem with culture...he takes to Twitter whining about a sack that was awarded to teammate and worried about jersey sales. I miss the days when cowboy players were focused on being the best and winning...

We all saw the play of Parsons last season, it was unreal. In the off season we heard Lawrence and Micah challenge each other. It seems that now, certain players have joined in on this. I heard on the radio show where EVERYONE is just trying to make plays, to be THAT GUY.

It's great that Micah has raised that standard, but all we need is 10 more guys, AND Micah to do their job!! I'm not bashing Micah in anyway. His play and him being noticed by all the media is probably making guys to try to do too much. I'm not sure!

Everyone can't be a Micah, just play your role and go hard, give your thoughts
When you start challenging players it becomes about stats. That's why we don't control the edge and just pin our ears back to get sacks.....this is why we can't stop the run. The DL should take up blocks and keep the OL from getting to the second level and blocking LBs.

For the record, I hated Garrett from the beginning until the end and every time in between.

Garrett did not intentionally sabotage Wade Phillips. That is just a conspiracy theory. Wade was a delegator and who overly focused on the defense in his head coach role. Wade was a brilliant defensive coordinator in his prime but not head coach or else he would be one for some other team long term in the NFL. Just look how long Wade was head coach with other teams. Ironically he was a head coach with the Cowboys longer than with any other team. He became a head coach in 2022 in the XFL that is a place that NFL cast offs go to play and coach.
