Has Rico Gathers learned how to block yet?

I dont care if he cant run a route or catch a cold. If he can block at all he adds value in comparison to what we are running out there now. For the record I am not slamming Escobar here, he is what he is. The running game needs a another TE that can block to really be effective IMO.

This is where La'el Collins can assist in being an extra TE/lineman for blocking situations. That's the best reason for using the IR reactivation on him.

Rico is a monster of a man. I wonder all the time how his development is going but he looked like a fish out of water during training camp live on the website but the 1 preseason game he played in he bowled over 3 or 4 guys before getting brought down.


We need either Hanna to make a comeback for us or we need to start getting Mayle more involved somehow.

Or we should just dip into Free Agency.. A real blocking TE should be a dime a dozen.

Because he's a 2nd round pick, and over the last several years has only made not even a handful of plays, and is a liability as a blocker.

Gathers was the worst blocking tight end I've ever witnessed in an NFL uniform during the preaeason. I actually laughed out loud watching him. I wouldn't hold my breath.
