Has Romo lost a step or two?

I think Romo has lost a step or two. I also think Romo is going to try and play like he hasn't lost a step, and this will speed up how fast he will be injured again. It takes time to adjust your game if at all.

He has never been fast, but he is quick and twitchy in the pocket. Whether this remains after he returns from his injury is yet to be seen, but I don't think he really lost that prior to getting hurt.

I haven't seen any signs of him having lost any steps. If he has, though, it'll show up with Dak on his heels.

I think, if anything, both of these guys embrace the competition and up their games.

How will we know that whoever is on the bench has upped their game?

Last season, Romo did look a little slower to me. I am not sure if he's slower or if he's thinking more about not getting hit. In 2014, he was quite agile both in and out of the pocket.

Even in the pre-season game where he got hurt this year, he seemed a little timid when moving around. Hopefully, it's just a lack of being used to playing in games and he will shake off the rust.

the thing that worries me the most is that it seems to me that romo is starting to get nervous feet and feeling pressure that isn't there. having said that, i look forward to seeing him out there again.

That's where you have to rely on the coaches watching them in practice, I guess. Maybe you bring back 'Romo Wednesdays' for a week or two, just to get Dak some looks, too.

What makes you say that? The section from the Sturm article last week?

Compared to when? 2006/2007? Probably a little. Compared to 2012, 2013, 2014? I don't think so, but we've only seen him for about 10 plays this year, and the only one where he ran his speed looked the same to me.

I think his passing ability is still there and I don't think Romo has even been fleet of foot, he is just elusive.

Dak definitely isn't fast...not even close.
But, uh, yes, he IS faster than Tony.
:muttley:

Romo only had about 65 yards rushing in 15 games in 2014.
Dak already has about 40 or so. So o pace to get about 100-120 more than Romo did.
Romo has never, ever been a "running" QB
Total non-issue

They are both elusive

Well, this is my learnerd opinion!
But of 'frickin course he has lost a step or two, weather he'll admit to it or not is totally besides the point'.
When I hit #35, I knew I wasn't #22 anymore.

He knows.
