...What team is in the best position to stay on top in the NFC-East race to the playoffs?

Some of us will proclaim ...that it's too soon to tell or that it's too close to call. Minus unexpected injuries, and taking into consideration teams and players that take their games to the next level, I'd say that right about now is a pretty good time to at least start to look at the teams we've played and how other teams have played around the league to determine where your respective team fits in the macro scheme of things.

New York - Seems to be in command of thier own destiny. Even when Tiki Barber is being contained Plaxico Buress seems to have the good hands needed to put points on the board. Are the Giants ready to take it this to the next level into the post-season? What effect does the loss of LaVar Arrington have on the team

Dallas - [with a more maneuverable QB] Could the Cowboys refreshen their offense. Perhaps, if their OL is able to thwart DL pass rushes and win battles at the line of scrimmage.

Philadelphia - Still in striking range, the Eagles still haven't developed the early strike and death blow to opponents. Westbrook and Stallwroth (once that hammy heals) should be factors in the formula, but the Eagles defense must hold teams (especially their secondary and especially in the dwindling minutes of the game).

Washington - ...are one or two games away from calling it a season. All of their remaining games are "must win" games. Uncertain what's going on with the Commanders, but there's talk going around about this Being Gibbs last year if they don't pull things out of that rut they find themselves In. Talented team with talented players - too bad; perhaps the fat lady has not begun to sing yet.

That said, when the dust settles ...

2006 Prediction..............................2005 Standings

1) Eagles (X)..................................Giants

2) Giants or Cowboys (Y)...................Commanders

3) Cowboys or Giants........................Cowboys

4) Commanders....................................Eagles

I could be wrong ...I've been wrong before ...haven't we all?

I don't think it is very nice to talk about Andy Reid or Bill Parcells starting to sing. ;) :p:

I dont see the Eagles keeping it up all season. Actually, I see Manning having a great year.

1) Giants - 11 wins
2) Eagles - 9 wins
3) Commanders - 7 wins
4) Cowboys - 5 wins

Grammatically, I'd have to say the Giants.
