I cant think of one. If there were any great Eagle players it was clearly before I was born and probaly before my dad was born to! :D The Boyz have had all kinds of great players. The Eagles???? Oh and how about Super Bowls.

Reggie White was great as long as he didn't have to line up opposite Big E.
Jerome Brown was great. TO is pretty great now and so is McNabb.

Sonny Jurgensen had a couple of good years for them.

Chuck Bednarik was the guy that took out Frank Gifford for a year..

From way back when, Steve Van Buren.

No. I think Rodney Peete played for them, but as far as I know that's the only former Cowboys player that played for the Eagles. That's as close as they have gotten.

:D

Tommy McDonald, Norm Van Brocklin, and Ollie Matson were great IMO. Did Tommy play for us at one time?

Mike Ditka as well. He was with the Eagles for a couple of years before he came to Dallas in '69.

Steve Van Buren was a great running back, but he played before the light bulb was invented.

Now Midswat, the title did say ever. That does include the days when records were kept by people in candle lit rooms, writing on parchment with a feather quill pen.:)

Harold Carmichael was a pretty good big WR

R.Cunningham- for many years buddy ryan worried about defense and just told Randall to do what he could...and randall did a pretty good job IMO in that limited system.

Reggie White...one of the best DE's ever IMO.

Norm Van Brocklin - Old or not he was a player worthy of praise.

Steve Van Buren - not as great as norm but see above.

Chuck Bednarik- Guy was a highly decorated War Hero who had many missions as a tailgunner flying over Germany.
Guy was actually drafted as a center and actually made all pro playing that position his first two years before they switched him to LB and that was where he really shined. Guy IMO is still underated in the history of football.

Tommy McDonald - Great WR for the eagles years ago and I think he is in the HOF.

After checking up a little on Tommy McDonald he did indeed make the HOF.

Here are the list of Eagles in the HOF (sure not all are in because of their time with the eagles ala Ditka) but either way here is the list.

1. Tommy McDonald
2. Mike Ditka
3. Sonny Jurgensen
4. Jim Ringo
5. Ollie Matson
6. Norm Van Brocklin
7. Bill Hewitt
8. Pete Pihos
9. Earl "Greasy" Neale
10. Alex Wojciechowicz
11. Chuck Bednarik
12. Steve Van Buren
13. Bert Bell

This was a nice surprise! I'd have to include Ron Jawarsky; even if he didn't win our only SB appearance.

Here's some head coaches worth mentioning ...

Dick Vermeil - took the team to their Only SB appearance against a lucky Raider Franchise.

Buddy Ryan - Infamous if nothing else.

Andy Reid - Took the team to 4-consecutive NFC East victories.
Thanks.

Rodger Starback? You must mean Roger Staubach was the Heisman Trophy winner as a junior at Navy in 1963, led the Dallas Cowboys to two Super Bowl titles (1972,78) and was Super Bowl MVP in 1972.

Yeah, I liked Roger Staubach also; no joke!

Not sure if you caught it...but I think he was having a little fun at your spelling of Jaws name and therefore made a mispelling of Rogers Name....of course I see many people spell it starbuck or staback.

Here is a list of players that I could come up with. There are probably a few missing. Some of these were good players, some great. Some HOFer's. Either way, Philidelphia has had it's share of good players. The fact that they haven't won a Superbowl is not indicative of the fact that they haven't had fine players associated with there organization.

I really like Rodger Starback... I'm a huge Cowboys fan and he's totally my favorite.
I understand that I was the brunt of your joke. I'm not as quick witted as you, so you got me good (yuck, yuck). But I do have a good sense of humor. smile.

Meant every word about Rodger Starbuck!
