So today I was in a meeting with someone and we needed to get some sensitive information that was stored on their hard drive. The guy I was talking to called his secretary and asked her to pull the information. I always carry a flash drive with me in case I need to get some information fast and this works great. Anyway, I pulled the drive from my brief case and handed it to him to give to her.

When I touched his hand with the drive there was this burst of light and my partner there agreed it looked like a huge flame that shot from our hands. Neither he nor I were burned but it shocked us both real hard. Right up to my wrist.

The odd thing was the burst of flame that just flashed and was gone. It also made a loud snap sound.

I have never seen this before nor had it happen to me and was wondering if this is somewhat normal or what.

So, I just thought I would ask.

What kind of carpeting were you on? Where where you just prior to going into that meeting?

This must be one of those "weird" static electricty deals on sterioids. Its probably what happens in those "gas station" fires you read about.

Sounds like you two were just hot for each other, no sense in fighting it!

I think that is what started the term...Flamer.

Two guys touched and the static shock caused a flame not only literally but in their hearts.

I think you need to change your business name to Brokeback Business in other words Congrats...you just caught the Ghey.

On a serious note. Maybe one of you had something on your hands that you did not realize and the spark of the static shock caused it to flash/flame.

Maybe lighter fluid, gas from putting fuel in the car, small amount of lint.

I remember one time I was goofing around with my lighter. My wife was sitting in her shorts and I put the later a couple of inches away from her sock/foot and lit the lighter like I was going to move it over and burn her foot.

All of a sudden a big flash/flame raced up the sock and then was out. Scared the crap out of both of us and Like I said I had the lighter a few inches away from her sock/foot.

Don't know if it was lint from the sock hanging out a little and the static that erupted the flame or what. I just know it shocked us both:laugh2:

There may be something to that Brain. After every meeting I use a hand sanitizer. One of those dry gel type of things...Well, I usually have some time between meetings but I went from the ASCAP office and didn't go back to my car. It was 70 degrees here in Nashville yesterday so walked to my next meeting. Just before I got there I took the sanitizer out and used it and then walked into the office. We shook hands at the beginning but it was only into the meeting about fifteen minutes before I handed him the flash drive.

So maybe there was some kind of flame accelerate in the gel.
