Has this team become irrelevant?

I'm rapidly beginning to ask this question about our team.

For the last 3 years under Garett it just seems so.

The rest of the league and it's fans pour it on us that we are over rated and not to be taken seriously when it comes to football.

And each year it's the same thing.

Can't improve..go deeper in salary cap hell and we move on to the next season a bit more dimiished.

I don't remember Jerrah and Stephen explaining things to end up this way when Phillips and Parcells left the building.

We were assured we would improve, get back to winning football and that it's just around the corner.

The way it looks now..there is no end in sight.

So I ask again ..

Are we irrelevant ?

No way, check "likes" on Facebook, Forbes loves us also!

Long term, I genuinely worry how long that will hold true. We didn't become America's Team, the most hated team and the most profitable team by going 8-8 every year. There's going to be a whole crop of kids growing up right now who don't see much difference between the Panthers, Cowboys, Lions or Buccaneers. And that's scary.

As for the original post...irrelevant? Not yet. Our Cardiac Cowboy ways, the late-game antics and the media hype that still surrounds the franchise has us plenty relevant, even if we're as mediocre as they get.

That's what happens when you are mediocre at key positions such as RB, QB and Dline. Predictable offense doesn't help either when other teams come out laughing saying they knew exactly what play we were going to run. I've never seen a team with so much history get clowned on like they were the Jags or Browns or something

The media goes as far as putting words in Dez's mouth just to have a reason to trash us. So I would say we are far from irrelevant. A laughing stock, maybe.. but definitely relevant.

Parcells made us somewhat relevant again and Wade's era we were somewhat respected due to the 13-3 season and the 2009 playoff win season. After that, not so much.

2 things to keep in mind folks:

1) there is a process and plenty of stacking required to gain relevancy
2) Stephen Jones has a can of secret sauce he can whip out at any moment.

I'm disappointed with the way they lost today. Not surprised they lost on the road to a decent team...again...but ticked at how it happened.

But to say the team this year has not improved over last years is crazy. This is a much better team.
Can't say I'm sure what that'll get us though.

5-3 right now with all wins vs NFC would have really helped.
Brutal loss

How can you say this is a much better team when the defense is on pace to be the worst in the entire history of the Cowboys AND a pass defense that is on pace to give up the most passing hards in the entire history of the NFL?

I think the pass D still sucks, but the turnover ratio is way better. I bet they already have more turnovers than all of last year.
The offense, though it has flaws, I think is better too. Certainly the line is better and the WR group is deeper. No doubt that Romo is protecting the all better so far....almost to a fault.
