Has your mind changed?

I'm trying to convince myself Vander Esch is okay at 19.

It’s ok if he pans out as a long term starter. Have to hope, if he’s the pick.

Really hoping that Vea is there for us, and that rumors of liking him are true.

It seems to be true but I think they'd have you move up ahead of the Commanders to get Vea.

still hoping some how, some way Calvin Ridley is a Cowboy tonight.
my magic8 ball said You May Rely On It.....hope your right Magic8 ball.

Very possible. The Commanders just took an interior DL last year in Allen though.

As always, though, we’ve identified the guys we like and assume everyone feels the same way, and thus feel there’s no way that they’ll last to 19.

And also as always, it’s likely someone we don’t anticipate will be there.

Of course last year our worst fears were basically true and DE was wiped out.

But 19 is a lot closer to the top than 28. I would not be surprised if someone we all expect to be gone — like Vea, Roquan Smith, Edmunds, James, or Fitzpatrick — is there.

Especially since I think 5 QBs will go, and WRs always go earlier than people expect. And it wouldn’t be shocking if offensive linemen go earlier too, they are always in demand.

My problem with LVE is he could be the future replacement for Lee or Carpenter

Been hoping for Vea since during the season. Nothing has changed. Best 1T available and if that means Payne instead of Vea, then I am on board with that as well. Nelson - yes because he is a 10 yr fix. TEdmunds - yes because he is a fix it piece. But mainly 1T.

Guess I could deal with if Landry is off the board, just have to put a couple extra beers in the fridge. If Landry is still there and the the pick I might need to break out the jack and scotch!

Started out wanting Hurst, then shifted to Hernandez, but now I think it's LVE

As you all know we've basically been talking draft since the final game of the season against philly .
We've discussed just about every potential Cowboys first round selection in great detail .
We all pretty much know where each one of us stands on a particular player we want .

It's no secret that I been solidly on the Wynn,Hernandez bandwagon for most if not all this time but I am starting to rethink that position as the draft gets closer. I am starting to think along the lines of Landry or Evans on defense provided they are BPA at the time. I however won't be disappointed in an offensive lineman by no means .
Has anyone did a 180 over who they want?

Wouldn't call it a 180, but I began with WR, and gravitated over to OG.

Nearly everyone acknowledges that our downfall last season paralleled the downfall of our OL. If we assume near equality of available talent (and maybe that's an erroneous assumption, of course, so that's an important caveat) with our first pick, I think that first pick has to address that thing that you can trace to your greatest impediment from the previous season.

So, with that first pick, I want a player who optimizes the opportunity of our OL to perform at their highest level. (Yes, Mickey's concerns about having so many 1 rd picks invested in the OL be damned.) Then, spend much of the balance of the draft as you did last season, adding to the stable on defense.

guy is lean for 255lbs
just think he could easily put on 10lbs of muscle like most do and walk around at 265lbs almost 270lbs
thats a big dude playing mike or will linebacker

Have been on the DaRon Payne bandwagon for a year, pretty much resigned to the fact it went happen : (
Really seems like it's between LBer and WR.
My thought on LVE is - surely every scout, front office person see's and understands the Carpenter comparison. So, if he does become our pick, they must really have vetted him thoroughly !
Still don't want a trade up, would love an extra 2nd or 3rd.
Expect a solid, not great draft today.
Always hoping that Will McClay is the voice of reason.

I see the potential
I also see the risk

Very true. Plus, the draft can be about screwing over your opponents just as much as it is about drafting the BPA. Skins would salivate at messing up our plans.

If we didn't have such a hole at LB, I'd love Ridley. If somehow Vea falls, I think we could get away with drafting him and letting his and Collins big bodies stuff the run at the line. Otherwise, I'm all for LVE. I'm tired of all the "bust stuff" that gets talked about him. The guy hits okay and wraps up everything in sight. He's got the smarts, physical tools and instincts to be an impact player right away and he's a better scheme fit than Evans (who would probably be a better 3-4 Mike than a 4-3 one). If LVE is not there, I can live with Evans. We have to get better at stopping the run and we need depth at LB (I'd be all for drafting two in their first 4 picks).

Constantly.

Started off liking Ridley then became enamored with Moore.
Thought Edmunds was too slow figured out he was really never asked to run long.
Thought Billy Price was the second best interior OL prospect then moved to Hernandez then to Daniels.
I have been back and forth on Evans more times than I can count. Still don't trust him.
Thought LVE could not take on blocks then saw his progression over the season and what he was asked to do.
Thought Hurst was too light and then came around.
Thought that there was no depth to S and came around.

Fuzzy! Look at you coming around on Edmunds and

Man the thought of the Skins having Allen AND Vea is terrifying...2 top 20 talents playing side by side at DT?

Maybe we should just go ahead and draft another G at 19 if that happens lol

I get in arguments with people and I get accused of being pigheaded but the reality it is they who would rather die than admit a mistake arguing with me. I've repeatedly shown that I will accept reality and move on but I don't get mad when I argue though. Not here at least.

If you never make a mistake you are never learning and you are lying to yourself. I don't think I make many but when I do I go where the evidence takes me.
