But, preseason football don't be NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A few season's back, I think Arizona had a string of undefeated preseasons only to be horrible in the regular season. Now, am I saying we're going to suck, "no," but what I am going to say is besides Terry Glenn's performance the rest doesn't mean anything. You can not take away the things he has done because those were highlite film catches. I learned back in the day when we were good and had some tough preseason's, along with other teams success's only to be shown reality come the regular season that take it with a grain of salt. Teams do not game plan for the most part or play pressure defense.

I do think we are one of the teams that appears to have the magic to go to the superbowl. But then again it's only the pre-season so what do you do.

You don't look at the W or L you look at how your team played how your second (not the car salesman 3rd stringers) teamers did because they will indicate how your team responds in december when your right guard or wilb goes down

id rather look good and healthy then sloppy, injured and unable to score (certain team that plays 8 games a year in Landover md.)

Well what does it mean when you score 17 points against the Saints by halftime.

The next week the Colts score 17 points on the Saints by halftime.

Both done by the 1st team O and D.

We basically ran pitches, off tackle and a lead belly on the running game. Go routes, outs and corner posts in the passing game. Yet we moved the football at will and scored lots of points.

On defense we would rush one LB and play a simple man zone yet they couldnt move the ball much less score.

Sure its preseason but I have a feeling that once those wrinkles are out there its going to be fun to watch.

There are variables in the pre-season that just don't come into play in the regular season. Records don't mean much, though there's a link on this board that will tell you that there is a correlation between pre-season records and regular season records.

You can tell a lot, though, about how aspects of a team are executing. The Commanders, for example, scoring no points on 11 drives with their first team offense. Now, there might be reasons why those drives will be different in the regular season, but that's not a good sign any way you slice it. You can isolate the performance of defensive players, generally, since they're typically reacting to what the offense is trying to do anyway. If you know what a team's been working on in camp--fade routes or screens, for instance--you have a chance to see how those specific plays are progressing.

Most Dallas fans are less excited about the pre-season record, and just reacting to the fact that most of the indicators for this team appear to be pointing up. There's a big season coming, and it's not because we're 3-meaningless-games and 0.

Yes, we realize it was only Frisco. No one's booking hotel rooms in Miami just yet. That said, don't deprive us of our momentary happiness.

If you can physically manhandle teams at the line of scrimmage in preseason, that usually won't change. Its Football 101 at its most basic. Our players aren't going to get any smaller or weaker in the next two weeks.

Its not about winning the game, jeez. It's about how your starters look. If you go up 17-0 with your startes and lose the game 20-17\, it doesnt mean your gonna lose in the regular season. And on the other hand if you offense is incapable of scoring, or even moving the football andd go down 17-0, but come back to win it 20-17, it doesnt mean your gonna win in the regualr season.

I was going to post this exact thing.

Clueless on the reason for and meaning of preseason success. :)

In past pre-season game Dallas seem to get a lot of lucky bounces or some freak play, this season these guys are executing and while it is only pre-season Dallas has been looking as good as any team out there.

You don't want to rain on our parade, the preseason don't mean nothing, other than Terry Glenn, the rest doesn't mean anything, ... but then you say you think we are one of the teams that appears to have the magic to go to the superbowl.

Which is it ?

I know it is preseason, but this statement is what really gets me...

We do not gameplan either.... but you do not see 49ers scoring do ya?

Its ok, if anything it builds confidence and team chemistry, and if you were around to watch the Cowboys of the early 90's, you would see how important that is.

I agree. Dallas like every team is running a basic vanilla offense and defense. We have not seen Dallas send guys like Roy Williams on blitzes this pre-season. The fact we are being very basic and executing it as well as we have says a lot about how this team is doing.

any preseason "W/L record" is useless but our preseason has been fantastic in regard to player evaluation, boosting confidence, looking sharp and having fundamentals on both sides of the ball. and our two biggest FA "difference makers" haven't even touched the field (or been needed). what more can you ask for going into week 1.

No injuries!!!! Dallas has also managed to get through these 1st 3 with no real injuries. Right now I'm hoping the 1st string will only see a series or 2 in the last pre-season game then get them out of there

in my opinion sucking in the preseason is more of an indication that you will have trouble in the regular season, than winning in the preaseason will mean you will do well. So when we do well I feel we have a chance to keep it going in the real games.
