Lets give Callahan some credit here.

I think he really called a good game against the Rams.

Our attack was balanced and unpredictable. Like our offense long ago, before Garrett started implemented his playbook.

What really impressed me was that we brought back the delayed draw. Funny that some of the folks here was asking about that play. But that was a bread and better run play long ago. It was reminiscent of Barber running that play over and over, with repeated success. Barbers downfall was when we stopped using IMO.

Another play that was brought back was the play action. I'm glad to see it brought back and used effectively.

But what I really liked about seeing our offense was that Romo was to pass to Murray out of the backfield on some our plays. This was vintage Callahan and I really like it. It adds another feature to this offense.

Although this was the Rams this was a different Rams team than before. They may have laid a dud yesterday, but a lot of it has to do with us executing the plays.

I for one am pleased that Callahan is calling the plays. Hopefully this type of offense will stay with us throughout the year and we won't have to go back to Garrett's playbook again.

It was good to see the return of the delayed draw and the overall running game. I would like to see more back shoulder fades, seam and vertical routes. There has been a dearth of passing plays of more than 10 yards.

Agree.....................I dont want Garrett calling the plays again either.

He cant handle both being an HC and an OC. He tried to do both and he couldnt get the job done. Not dogging him, just stating that back to back 8-8 seasons was not getting it done with him being the HC and OC.

So the injuries last year were all his fault? ? Dez falling out of bounds by 2" was his fault? Bailey's missed FG was his fault? I could go on but you get the point.

No, but basic clock management, proper use of timeouts, knowing when to throw the challenge flag, being aware of down and distance, ect.........................they kinda are his responsibility. And go ask Ryan about getting a pass for injuries. He was sending guys out on defense that were sitting at home on the couch the week before and he took the 31st ranked unit to middle of the pack. Apparently he didnt get the memo that a coach gets a pass for injuries.

So why should Garrett?

It helps make up for the KC game.

Yes it does. So long he adjusted to what they did wrong in the KC game. Then they took advantage of what the defense was doing. The offense dictated the way the Rams played their defense and not the other way around. We were prepared for the double teaming on Bryant and we exploited from the beginning.

Garrett would have waited an entire half or would not have changed the offense whatsoever on what the D was doing.

I dont see Garrett making a lot of in game miscues - no more than any other veteran HC - Andy Reids teams always did and still probably will lead the league in wasting timeouts. And i have seen plenty of coaches make poor decisions that get questioned week to week.

The anti-Garrett sentiment is tough to debate here.

His playbook is completely outdated and horrible though the posters who say this have never seen it.

He cant call plays or manage a game.

Bill Callahan becomes the play caller and the cowboys lose on the road and its still Garretts offense sucks is the reason for the loss because Callahan is calling the plays from Garretts sucky playbook.

Next week the cowboys win with a great game plan and its because now callahan is calling the plays instead of Garrett- (i dont think the playbook changed in 1 week but what do i know).

Tony Romo gets more input in the offense but Garretts play book does not have any plays that suit his skills so Tony is screwed.

And so on...
