RECENT NEWS

At his pro day, Washington edge rusher Hau'oli Kikaha's "lack of speed confirmed a lot of fears, and I've been told since the combine, a number of teams have removed him from their boards over medical concerns," reports TFY Draft Insider's Tony Pauline.
Kikaha had a poor showing at the showcase, running forties timed between the high 4.8s and mid 4.9s. Kikaha weighed in at 243 pounds, 10 less than at the combine, but Pauline reported his 40 time at 4.97 seconds anyway. We would strongly suggest to NFL franchises that they should stop Kikaha's tumble if that's what happens later this month. The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Kikaha is hyper productive, posting 19 sacks, 73 tacklesand two forced fumbles in 2014. Apr 8 - 7:04 PM

I'm getting serious Vontaze Burfict déjà vu over here.

If he gets into the 6th or 7th, I'd be seriously thinking about taking a flyer on Kikaha if I was in the Cowboys war room.

Seems more like a Ben Gardener deja vu. Body-limited, scheme-specific tweener with a good work ethic who's going to have to alter his body to have a chance.

Kikaha's sacks were scheme inflated. Frequently set up at 9-tech and took advantage of college lines that didn't have the foot speed to counter it. His sacks were not NFL kind of sacks. The DE on the other side, Andrew Hudson, was 7th in the nation in sacks and isn't a prospect at all despite being a similar size and slightly better athlete.

If there's a Vontaze Burfict deja vu, I'd say it's Frank Clark of Michigan.

Burfucit dropped because he was an overweight head case who also failed the drug test.
Kikaha is going to drop because of 2 knee surgeries that could make his future in doubt.

Sure they both ran bad 40 times, but for completely different reasons. Not really comparable.

As far as I am concerned, rounds 5-7 should all be players with character issues or injury issues. Have to strike gold somewhere.

Honestly this is what i think every year- take guys who have prblems and injury isses because if they fix it you get insane value.

yeah, I wouldn't care if he came in on a walker, if he gets 19 sacks, he is doing something right...later pick and I wouldn't mind seeing him wearing the star

....by the way, with a last name like that, he sounds more like a replacement for Bailey or Jones....I digress......
