Have a problem with my iPhone and iTunes

I have iTunes on my computer but it won't sync with my phone. A while ago I tried syncing it on someone else's computer but it gave me all of her apps. I have an account set up but when I plug my phone into my computer it just vibrates and says I need to install a mobile device. I've looked on Apple's website and can't find anything. Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Thats a new one on me. I know you're not supposed to hook up to other peoples itunes accounts (thier computers). But even then it would have just deleted your stuff.

Try googling the problem and see what you come up with (not just apples websites). You will probably come up with a link to a forum where its happened before.

Also, if its conveniant, hook your phone back up to that other computer and see if it works again.

You can also look at your itunes account and check your settings to make sure its supposed to automatically link when you hook up your phone.

Have you tried reinstalling iTunes or upgrading to the latest version? it sounds like the Apple Mobile Device service is either not running or not working properly.

I just bought this computer and it won't recognize my phone. I can't install it as another external device.

I'm guessing whatever it is, is pretty simple. Its just a matter of figuring out what it is.

Did you have any luck googling the problem?

If not, you might just be better off scheduling a trip to the apple store at the genius bar.

I haven't googled it yet. I've been looking at other things on the internets.
